Was rather nice afternoon, so decided to take a walk down to HomeDepot for a few things. Mainly a new dryer vent hose as the stiff metal one purchased last summer just isn't doing it for me. Nabbed a "periscope" vent off fleaBay for <$1, so when it arrives will be able to push the vintage Whirlpool portable closer to the wall and leave it there, and just run the hose to the window.

Anywho, after picking up the new hose and a dryer "vent brush" decided to take the fifty-cent tour and see what there is in Home Depot as one does not go there often.

1. Martha Stewart's laundry line (the detergent was panned in CR as being no better than water), is on clearance. *ALL* of it it near give away prices.

2. Saw the new Ariel offering from P&G. Picked up the bag and gave a sniff, to my surprise it has a scent nothing like the previous incarnation that came in a green box. Smells rather like a nice "baby powder" fragrance. No "HE" emblem on the bag and as the writing was entirely in Spanish, didn't bother with it for long. Well that and plus one has enough laundry detergent to last the duration...

3. Finally at the end of the laundry product asile noticed a deep reddish bottles of Downy "Simple Pleasures". Now after my first experience with this stuff (Lavender Rose), swore never again to go near the stuff, however picked up the bottle and gave a whiff. The scent is called "Spice Blossom Dare or Passion Fleurs épicées", and to one's surprise was rather nice. Not over powdering and rather delicous. So what the hell, it was reduced to $3.99 and so what if one really does not use fabric softener and already has enough stashed away. It might prove interesting.

HD as the full line up of "Actilift" Tide liquids, but only one type of Tide powder, and that was only small boxes.

We've had a bottle of the Spice Blossom Downy for a few months. To me, it smells like a midwestern tavern where beer and food is being sold.
But it is a nice scent. We use it predominantly on our dog beds, at 1/4 the dose of course.
