Since I'm a huge Norge/Wards fan, am curious to know what other manufacturers of Wards Signature washers/dryers other than Norge (and Westinghouse, I believe) there were, and what years? Does anyone know? Is anyone interested?
in my '82 monkey wards catalog, washers and dryers by norge, westinghouse and franklin can be found. My'89 monkey wards is a franklin plastic tub as westy T/L was out of production by then
For Ward's as they had some very cool machines by several MFG's. (Norge, Westinghouse, WCI and possibly GE for some compacts.) They could never match quality or performace of the Whirlpool built Kenmore machines of their rival Sears.
Of course now Kenmore is going down hill with production being farmed out to Samjunk and Luxury Garbage instead of Whirlpool.

Yes the very first Montgomery Wards Automatic were Apex made machines, but they were not Bouncing Baskets. Apex made two types of automatics early on, a standard back and forth agitator with a fiberglass tub for Wards and a few other odd brands, plus the Bouncing Basket models found on all Apex and Universal branded machines. A brochure for one of the Apex agitator washers can be found on Automatic Ephemera here under the Gambles-Marquette brand label:
