Must be the week for finding good stuff. I was especially delighted to find this GE automatic toaster yesterday, it has eluded me for ages and it's in great condition as is the yellow GE mixer. Haven't cleaned them yet. I remember one of our neighbors had this toaster back in the day growing up and I was always fascinated by it.

Who could pass up a Magnajector, I couldn't, especially when it's so minty fresh. And another Proctor Silex glass perc that looks to have little to no use.. it's not the light up model though.

Magnajector -- for slides? I've never seen one of those before. Almost every estate sale worth it's mettle has projectors and equipment for a slide show. We tossed out boxes of slides from my grandparent's house when we cleaned it out years ago - wish we hadn't done that!

I've found a couple of those Silex pots as well, mostly never used. I wonder if people found them too "fussy" to clean or use?

Never seen a Magnajector? I'm shocked!!! After all it was the winner of the 1954 Design Award.
It's a kids toy magnifier.. the bottom is open and there's a lightbulb inside and a mirror and it projects whatever it's sitting on onto the wall.. ie the page of a book, crayoning picturs etc.

Good heavens, Greg, the Magnajector was in every single Christmas catalog for the whole '60s!

That's a cool li'l toaster you got there, Petey. If I remember, Consumer Reports was favorably impressed with it.

I don't know why so many of those P-S percs are unused. Since you can take 'em apart, they're easier to clean even than my immersible Presto. And when you got one that lights up, well, your dinner parties will be the talk of the neighborhood for weeks!

That's a HB blender, you should be able to find a replacement blade assy fairly easily. Too bad about the Nutone,, have you seen the new ones for sale on Ebay, looks like the parts will fit the old ones or some of them at least.

HB Blender

It looks like thats the "cookbook" model, that dates from the later 60's and is a very good blender!
Search ebay for the matching recipie book "The Blender Way To Better Cooking"
Blades for the HB should be fairly easy to find, around here you can even get them at Wal Mart.
Congrats on a great find!

It's a toy!!

Oh, that sounds like a cool toy to have, I'll have to keep my eyes open a little wider from now on...

Beautiful Connie BTW, my favorite color of those!

Dan, I have the exact same blender you found downstairs - it was a conception gift to my mother before I was born. I replaced the blade and seals - I think ACE Hardware carries, or can order, those parts.

I found a replacement blade at McClendon's (our local, and very fabulous, hardware chain) and the blender is back in action!

Missed out on that auction, but I will sure keep my eyes peeled for that cookbook. Evidentially, this blender was born the same year I was.

Pete,

I love those "Jane Jetson" GE hand mixers and am going to grab one the next time I come across one that's complete. I saw one in aqua a while back but it wasn't in the best shape. These are one of my favorite small appliances from the 60's.
