While awaiting spares for the old AEG that you chaps have helped me with so well... I landed this.

An Indesit 610 G circa 1985 as I was led to believe by its previous owner who bought it new?

Anyway, it's working fine and dandy but the bearing is starting to make a racket. Tried to find something on the interwebs but no joy, can only find a 'star' assembly for the rear for around £120.
Does anyone know the actual bearing spec so I can order before I have to take it apart?
:) Cheers again!

If I recall correctly, some of these Indesits didn't have actual bearings you could remove and replace but the races were cast into the hubs. Indesits of that era were a nightmare to work on anyway as there were so many changes in parts spec. and there was a very high probability of receiving the wrong parts. At one time I had 2 machines in the workshop that had identical model numbers but were totally different internally.

I remember reading something similar about the bearings, Fido. There are no individual bearings for the 610G listed anywhere so I guess this is one of those models.

Beautiful!
Star ordered and received. Machine stopped running completely the following day...
Easiest job in the world, removed some covers and removed springs to lower tub, back off and drum comes out.
Nothing wrong with bearings.
Two legs of the 'star' broken off.
Lucky it comes as a whole assembly!
Re-fitted with new bolts and sealed up.
Now silently running!

AEG still laid up in the garage at the moment, will take pictures when I have moved the Datsun so I can see it again!

Excellent! It's so satisfying to make a repair to keep an old machine running. Do keep us up to date with the AEG.
