The machines tub and racks.

No PermaTuf Tub, Tuf-Tub or DuraTub, Super Racks or the like around here! The good bit is that it won't rust away in less than 10 years of use.

Observant Viewers:

If you look closely at the lower arm, you can see an orange collar that serves to control the water flow as it does in the Bosch S620 dishwasher (30 years old) I talked about in the Imperial forum this past week. You can see my opinions about that feature in the thread there, if you wish.

Looks like a Miele inside; lucky for you.

This is not a GE in any way shape or form except for the badge. With Antipodean GE's all bets are off because of all the licensing agreements between international companies. All of this, btw, is a GOOD thing, because the US Potscrubbers were crappy machines.

At least from what I here on this forum, people seem to get very mixed experiences with the same or similar GE machines. I think it had a lot to do with Water Temperature, Water Pressure, Hardness and people's loading ability (The latter of which shouldn't be an issue among appliances aficionados).

We have members singing praises about the GE machines and others that really don't find them good performing. Maybe it depended on what you got too...

Please don't misunderstand me; I'm a huge GE fan and I love the Mobile Maids, GE Pull-outs and they've greatly improved the performance of their contemporary line.

GE dishwashers that were labeled "Potscrubber" with celery-green Plastisol tubs and wide "clown-shoe" impellers, were noisy, cheap and lame cleaners. We owned two of them( my Parents were GE stockholders) and replaced them before they died with a KitchenAid and a Maytag. I don't dislike the brand, just that generation of the product.

Oy!

The American Potscrubber and Potscrubber II machines were enough to put anyone off the GE brand - to say nothing of dishwashers in general, and quite possibly water and electricity.

Bad juju. Baaaaad juju.
