I used to love to watch Mr. Wizard aka Don Herbert on tv in the 1970. Hard to believe he was almost 90 years old.

I'm sad to hear it.

He was very cool in his own way. Anything anyone can do to popularize science and practical knowledge is a good thing, and he was one of the best.

He was definitely one of the people who made a difference -- a positive one -- in our world.

Watch Mr. Wizard was one of my all-time favorite shows as a kid. I learned more from that show and Don Herbert, than from my science class in Jr. High.

I'm older than a lot of you. I remember his show from the B&W days on NBC Saturday mornings. A several have already said, I learned more things from that show than I would from any other single source until much later in life. BTW, I did the experiment with the metal canister, the candle, and the funnel full of flour with a hose extending outside. Puff into the hose, flour is strewn into canister, candle ignites it, BOOM!
