Hello Everybody,

I've searched for years for a commercial I saw only once as a child.

As I remember. I was watching "The Name Of The Game"(in the late 1960's/early 1970's), when a commercial came on for a Washer/Dryer machine. It showed a group of young Hippies - out in a field - playing it the mud. They were all completely muddy - from head to toe - except for one pretty girl; who was completely clean. This was the time of Woodstock, & she looked a "Flower Child". She stands next to an outdoor Washer/Dryer, pulls out a clean white shawl, wraps it around herself, & then goes back into the mud again. Or @ least I was left with that impression.

Does anyone recall this commercial? I was thinking it was for Maytag, but that's probably wrong. I'd love to see it again. That is, if anyone can locate it.

One friend said, it may have been a Detergent commercial. Which makes sense. But I don't remember seeing any soap advertised. PLEASE HELP.

Many Thanks,
Mike

Chocolate cream with slices of dark chocolate on top. Looks like she got the stuff on her face and it ran down between her breasts. I suppose in the next photo her special someone gives her a great big kiss and says "You're so sweet!" Now that kind of kinkiness is a whole lot more wholesome than some of what goes on today...

As for those dirty hippies, yeah, that was at a time when antibiotics still worked, before resistant bacteria were a life-threatening hazard. "Ahh, fun & games, let's all go play in a mud puddle!"

I was a little kid when Woodstock happened, I remember seeing it on the TV news and thinking "Oh My God how unsanitary!" The peace & love idealism was a good thing, but the pictures of all these grownups sleeping amidst piles of garbage were scary as hell. (Really! The 1960s counterculture could have had a much more beneficial influence on the mainstream culture if they hadn't been into that whole "rejection of cleanliness" routine!)
