This is a cute commercial for the 1968 Ford Mustang. I remember the jingle but don't think I ever saw a commercial for it this long—maybe a promo video? Some of you may have seen it, but for those who haven't, enjoy!

Any other vintage commercials you would like to share?

I've got 2 favorites

The 1970 Charger

The 1959 Chevy -- the song is addictive, though not as much as see the U.S.A. in your Chevrolet...

There used to be one for a 1966 Mustang out there that I liked with Fred, King of the Crabgrass Diggers, but it appears to have been removed... oh well

The FBI?

I'm betting the Mustang commercial was filmed for airing mainly on "The FBI," which was sponsored by Ford (who could miss those Custom and Custom 500 sedans driven by the agents?). There's also a minute-long version of this spot; the longer version was probably held for "FBI" and other Ford-sponsored series and/or specials.
In the early 1960's, Ford was also sponsor of "Hazel." Here's series star Shirley Booth doing a pitch for the Falcon, probably late 1963 or early '64!

Song now stuck in head!

And thanks Washabear as I like that catchy song. We had a car dealer in Mesa Arizona, Berge Ford, that used that song as their jingle...Only Berge Ford makes it happen. And they did too for my Dad in 1969 when he bought his LTD. My older brother and his wife bought a new Mustang in 1968. To this day he still gripes about that car. It never had the power or handling he wanted.

Curious about that commercial. Was the guy driving the fastback, pulling away from the football player that girl's father or older boyfriend? Either she's rolling her eyes at him or giving him bedroom eyes, hard to tell.

While looking at Mike S's link, went to that website. Jackpot of car commercials!

Your older brother must have had a 68' with the 250cid 6 in it. My sister had a 68 with the 302cid V8 in it. That thing would move like a bat out of hell. More than adequate power.

Speaking of handling, in that 59' Chevy commercial, do you see how that convertible floats and waffles down the road? That was typical handling for American full size cars back then. The cars like the Falcon, Chevy II Nova handled much better. They usually had some kind of a stiffened suspension available as an option.

Jogging the memory

Whirlcool, his Mustang had a 302 in it, now that I recall. Though a very stripped down car. Not even sure that it had A/C. My sister on the other hand loved her cars. Her 1964 Galaxie 500 with 390 Thunderbird engine, it had the 4 barrel carb, would really get up and move. That car also had the swing away steering wheel. In 1962 same sister wanted a Thunderbird roadster, red of course. She had a great job and could well afford the car, however parents had to co-sign as she was single and living at home. Parents would not do that as "nice girls" did not drive red convertibles. She got a black 1962 Galaxie sedan.
