If something about the OJ thing came on the TV or radio, I
always changed the channel, turned down the volume, or turned
it off. I barely know what happened during the whole mess and
don't care if I ever do. Same thing with Lindsey and Paris and
all that other crap. Can't switch channels or mute or off fast
enough.

I have noticed that it seems commercials come on all stations at the same time. When a commercial comes on, you try to jump to another station, and sure enough, there's another commercial running. Over and over again! What do these stations do? Have a meeting and decide at exactly what time they will all run commercials? But that's a whole new rant!

I recently have started that too, when a commerical comes on, I hit the mute button. It helps so much! Lots of todays commericals are just aggravating !

Even more so - I've seen the exact same commercial running
on multiple channels at the same time (few second time lag
maybe.) Just makes me more adimant not to buy the product.

Hooray for the mute button

It really is a mind-saver. The only trick is making sure you don't forget to turn the sound back on when the program of interest resumes.

As a result a lot of my viewing is PBS stuff. Even the pledge breaks are nowhere near as annoying as those for-profit commercials for ailments we never thought we had before and never knew that we needed expensive new medications for (thinking "restless leg" here).

The other alternative is to just turn off the broadcast or cable signal and pop in a DVD. But even those have commercials at the beginning! LOL!

Yeah, I can't think of it now (because I turn it off as soon
as possible), but there is some f**king fat (diet loss)
commercial that constantly runs here on Ch. 45 that is the
ultimate in disgust. It lasts "forever" (in TV terms) with
disgusting people that make me want to barf or commit
unspeakable (non-pleasurable) acts towards them.

Watching a PBS pledge break is much more pleasureable.
