I've never really introduced myself, I just jumped on board and started chiming in. I am really into vacuums, but I am more intrigued by large appliances now that I've started coming over here. I used to hang out on the vacuumland.org forum, but I got upset over the Tom Gasko fiasco and try not to spend much time there anymore. I'm 23 until next month :o( and I've had my own apartment for a year now. I love living by myself, but my tabby Jasper, my antique treasures (known to regular people as "just vacuums"), and my GE portable dishwasher really help it feel like home. I've not spoken to my family since I was 19 (I should re word that... they've not spoken to me, we've not spoken to each other) because I'm gay and they are, well, I think stupid is the only word that applies there. I'm sadly a Florida native, but after I graduate college, I'd like to move anywhere else. I'm open for suggestions :o) I'm pretty old fashioned... besides vacuums cleaners I love to bake and I'm very much into I Love Lucy... I like any show where there's a housewife I can identify with. My favorite on Are You Being Served is of course Ms. Solocumbe

Most of the people here seem very nice and I'd like thank you for being so welcoming AND entertaining. So... a peek into my life :o)

The Hoovers

My first vacuum and favorite in the collection is the Concept... I love everything about that amazing machine!

The Kirbys

They are ALL my favorites, but I really only use the G5 for regular cleaning. The Heritage I use for a buffer, fluffer, and shampooer since the G5 only came with attachments and power plant.

The Royals

An 801 and a newer louder something or other. I LOVE the 801 and they were both thrift shop rescues for about 25 dollars.

The Eurekas

What can I say... they are powerful and I love the toe switch... classic, just like a Hoover Convertible.

extra vacuums

They really don't fit into a category. The Vorwerk was free and it is a lot of fun, very quiet and light. Very hard to find bags for.

Extra vacuums that need work. Celebrity has a broken power nozzle as does the blue Kenmore. Rainbow SE series is missing the dolly. Rainbow D2 has a bad power nozzle cord. Filter Queen is just old, works fine though.

Jasper says hi ;O)

Sorry the pictures are so big, I usually use photobucket and edit on there. It seems you can't embed photos here so I don't know how to change the size.

Hi Vacuumfreeeke, I regret that about your family. My family I'm sure knows about me, but we never talk about it. Mom knew, but it upset her terribly. Since I spent the better part of my life in the family home, she appreciated and loved me a lot anyhow. My dad said "those people are sick". I got life estate in this house, and my brother and sister cannot put me out. Sometime they'd like to, because my out of control whatever collection has trashed the house. They don't live anywhere near me. You have a beautiful collection here. I have a Dial-A-Matic Powerdrive identical to yours. And a green Dual Sanitronic 80, also. Be happy. Wherever you go, you'll attract good people. Take care, here is my Tom Tiger, he is very unhappy with me now, because of my roommates cats taking over the house.

very cool

I like the Singer A frame, those are cool machines and rare as heck today!
Yours looks very nice, save for the missing lens. Is that model U43?

Thanks for sharing the pics

Not sure what model but I will check, running late for work now! I really don't like that vacuum, but I'm keeping it because it is rare. I have the missing lens, but I stripped the screw holes in the green motor housing cover and never fixed either part or put it back together completely. :o( I haven't used it since the day it was given to me! Thanks for the nice words Alan :o)

Welcome and thank you for posting pics of your collection too. Glad the major appliance bug has bitten. Would love to see a pic of your portable dishwasher too. Handsome man with beaming smile and eyes. A nice quality, old-fashion guy, qualities some guys still appreciate. Bob

Nice vac collection,, now go post that over on vacuumland and don't let those few troublemakers dissuade you, that's what they wanted, but they lost and they're gone for now thank goodness.. LOL
You can bring JessyF in for backup if you're ascared.

hmm... quite a variety of power drive vacuums you have there. which power drive works best, in your opinion?
