Wonderful!

Wow it's so pretty! The Sanitronic 80 is my favorite Kirby (I love green). What exactly did you have to do to it?

Beautiful job, these are so pretty when restored to their full glory and having seen Terry's when it was done at the Kirby shop here, the green has actually grown on me. I found a D80 at a thrift store a few weeks ago, it looks wretched but Kirbys are very restorable. Yours shines like new again!

Not much

Suprisingly, I didn't have to do much to it. It was a one owner Kirby bought by a couple in the late 60's. They traded this in for a Diamond G. Everything on it was original. I just broke it down and polished every piece of metal on it LOL. I replaced the motor brushes, cleaned the spindle, oiled the bearings, washed the bag twice, and ran all of the plastic through the dishwasher. About the only thing that took an excessive amount of time was polishing all of the aluminum. With all of the crevices and curves it took a lot of time with a rotary buffer and a Dremel. I'm pretty proud of how it came out. Thanks :)

Old Kirbys never die....

That looks beautiful, it just gleams!
You can tell it was well taken care of too.
You did a wonderful job restoring that!

That is a beautiful Dual 80-I got one from the Filter Queen dealer when they used to be here-it was a trade in towards a new Filter Queen.Sadly they traded in a better machine than what they bought! The one I got had the attachments and the shampooer. The Filter Queen dealer said they did nothing to it-It is all nice and shiney!-the bag didn't smell either. You did a wonderful job in cleaning and shining it up!

Fabulous!

That's my favorite Kirby... Yours turned out great!!!

I love the color, the smaller nozzle, and the handle.

Here's a picture of mine... I run it with an aftermarket 4-brush brushroll--with the screws adjusted for a worn down brushroll, and an inside track belt... It really grooms the carpet nicely.

Yeah, good job; looks like new. And it looks like your cat is giving it due consideration as well (or perhaps that should be, your cat looks like s/he's afraid s/he'll be slurped up off the carpet by that thing!:-)

Another member for the Dual 80 club.......

Here is my restored Dual 80 that Fred Nelson gave me as a gift. It is complete with tools and owner's manual. The rug renovator, outer box, sprayer and rug renovator are currently living in the attic.

lest we forget..............

We love our attachments/tools too! I think Kirby had more than any other manufacturer. There is something for all kinds of cleaning and beyond.
