About 8 months ago I decided to buy myself something new, fun, cute and quick.

I bought a 2013 Fiat Abarth. Its an itty bitty little thing, thats for sure. But don't let looks deceive you. This is not just a Fiat 500. Turbocharged 5 speed sporty car! Its loud and quick from the factory. 170 wheel horsepower and this baby will beat any new 2.0 turbo VW and many other small turbo cars with more horsepower, due to the light weight of the Fiat.

I love it. If i baby it, Ill get 38mpg. If I beat on it, and race it, around 30mpg. I took the rear seats out for storage, because there isn't much room!

I plan on adding a tune and ram air intake soon, which will put it at about 240hp, so it will be keeping up with the heavier V8 muscle cars.

Nifty!

Those are nice cars and lots of fun. A buddy of mine bought one of the very first 500s in SoCal to replace an Alfa 164 that was just too big for city driving. This was before the turbo was available so his doesn't have that but he's been very pleased with the car. It's been reliable, economical and fun to drive, I haven't heard him so happy with a daily driver since an old Lancia Fulvia many years ago.

BTW be very careful with mods, they're technically illegal unless the manufacturer has received EPA or state approval and if discovered you can be refused a smog test. Another friend of mine had a header on her '80s Alfa spider to replace a cracked stock exhaust manifold (they all crack and are NLA, been there too). It had proper fittings for all the emissions equipment and everything was in working order but several stations saw it and refused to even put the car on the dyno. Eventually her husband found a station that didn't spot the header and the car passed with no problems. A non-stock intake is in the same category so make sure you can easily return to stock if necessary.
