My eyes cannot read the very small print to tell what the model number is.

I will need
advice on a few things. The soap dispenser doesn't want to stay in an upright position. Is there a trick to setting it?
I poured some Jet Dry in the knob on the left, and it all ended up on the floor. How does one access that area?
What is the thingy on the far right top for?

Scary Rust...
I am going to hope that their is some metal left here, and I will get some of that POR 15 that everybody talks about. The inside of this location is also rusty and starting to flake off.

Bottom Rack
There is some bubbling here and there on the bottom...should I apply the POR 15 over the bubbling, or sand it back a bit, and then apply?
Also...some of the rack tines are broken off, and some rust has set in. Will coating that with the POR 15 help?

Love the Formica top. Maybe WD40 on the Cycle Buttons.
Rust, not sure. I'm sure the experts will be chiming in soon.
We had a similar machine in our summer home bought Brand New in 1966.
They're a little noisy and shake when they are sloshing that water around, but as I recall, not bad performers. Power Shower (on the lid) will keep the Yibbles off the top of your glasses and coffee mugs/ cups.

Congratulations on your vintage acquisition. And how convenient that it has three cooktop burners on the lid! Where are the controls for those?

Nice save, Guy ! This is a more modern version of the Mobile Maid - the three-level wash system and lift up upper rack are great features.
About the detergent cup, I am not sure if these later models had a magnetic trip for the release or if they were tripped by a cam from the timer. Try slowly rotating the timer dial clockwise to simulate a full cycle - you may hear a snap in the main wash part of the cycle and if so, the cup is tripped by the timer. Bring the dial to off and try to rotate the cup up to see if it will stay in the 'up' position.
You'll probably want to take the front access panel off to investigate the rinse agent dispenser to see what may be causing the leak. Worst case here would be that the solenoid that opens and closes the dispenser is stuck in the open position.
I've used a shot of steam (yes, I know how crazy that sounds!) to free up stuck pushbuttons on a blender in the past. I used one of those hand-held steam cleaner machines and after a thorough drying period (48 hours) the buttons worked fine.
I think the part in the far right of the tub is a vent, but again it's been a long time since I got up close and personal with a Maid of this vintage (although that will be changing soon, I hope!!)

Rack Tines:
Appliance parts stores have something called a "tine kit," which is a bunch of little plastic caps and some adhesive. The caps go over the bare ends of the tines, with a dab of adhesive inside to keep them in place.
You will get the best results if you go after the rusted ends of the tines with some emery paper - or perhaps a fine file - before applying the tine caps.

I got around to flipping it over to have a look underneath. I see no staining, so I figure that's good. The inlet valve washer was rock hard.
I'll try that shot of steam trick to see if it helps.
I looked at the rinse-aid dispenser for a hole. I couldn't find one, however, what I initially thought was a plastic seam, could be a vertical crack. I have ordered some of the POR 15 stuff.

Guy, you won't need the Teflon tape for the inlet valve - as long as you've got a good flexible washer it won't be necessary.

I think the black screw top in the photo above on the right is where you add your JetDry. Or you could just use one of those JetDry thingies that just hang on a rack.

I'm all excited. I'm most curious about what the model# is here...have you used a magnifying glass yet to find out? My best guess is that these are "A" models from 1965, because the 1964 iteration had an operating pilot light above the dial.
