Williamson

These are old furnace tags from Williamson Products. My dad used to work for a dealer who put this brand in.. They were tanks! Too bad they company has gone bankrupt.

Maytag

Story behind this..

My aunt and uncle sold their farm 5 years ago. They had a Maytag wringer washer that she was still using up to the day they sold the farm.. I called mom and said I'd like to buy the washer from them since I knew the new house has an automatic washer. An hour later, she called said they couldn't sell it since it has already been listed on the auction sheet. I was kinda bummed about that, but figured I'd try to get it then. So, a week later I come home from work, and saw this Aug of 1935 paper framed up sitting on my counter top, and a birthday card from mom.. I called mom, and asked her where did this come from!? She said they found it in the attic when they were cleaning it out. Figured I'd like this since I didn't get this washer.. I said "This washer!?" It not what she has.. Mom said they had this washer as well, it was pushed in the back of the furnace. She thought this was the washer I wanted. I told her No, I was wanted the working one. Well, sad to say, she took the "newer" washer to the junk yard! On the day of the auction, there sat this old Maytag, and needed some work, but the bid was way out of my budget at the time! I later found out why she got rid of the "newer" Maytag.. She was worried some person is going to get their hand caught up in the wringer, and did not wanted to sued!!

Williamson

The Williamson Co. was located in the Cincinnati suburb of Oakley, at the intersection of Madison & Ridge Rds. The buildings were torn down about 20 years ago, and an HQ warehouse (like Home Depot or Lowes) was built there. That store only lasted a few years, and the building has become a mega church. Williamson was a very popular brand in this area for many years, and know of several still in service. I'm sure Pete (Rollermatic) remembers it well.

Your Maytag trucks are very nice. What scale are they?

I'm not sure off hand what scale it is.. I'll have to take a look and get back to you.

I wish the Williamson is still around.. The name been brought, but it's not the same thing now.

It never is. I always hate it when a company gets bought out, because it's a safe bet that whatever made them good or unique will soon be gone.
