Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Looks nice and thank you

The previous owner says that it hasn’t been used Since they got it, I’m not sure how long ago that’s been, is there anything I should watch out for like anything I should check before I start using it? And there is a little knob at the bottom Of the Control Panel that I know is missing, what with that knob control, the heater or what?

Hi Adam,

Nice machine you have there, mine was used in a shop display and then was stored at the back of a shop for many years all in the darkest depths on Neu Wulmstorf / Germany.

These machines have quite a basic operation, the lower knob is for the heater and when pulled out the bulb above the wash/spin lever illuminates.

Word from the wise, be prepared to get a nice spray when you operate the spinner with the lid raised !! lol

When operating the wash timer - pull and turn the knob to desired time.

Enjoy :)

Hi Adam,

I am not sure what the knob thread would be like and will check later,

As regards to the wash load I would say it would be around 3 - 4lbs, we had budget twin tubs in the UK, Rolls / Goblin / Frigidaire / Burco etc which had similar washtubs and held around 4lbs. The wash action was produced by a small flat turbulator as opposed to the spiral porcelain activator in this machine.

Cheers
Keith

Wow,

I’m surprised, that’s tiny, I thought it would’ve been a bit larger I know caravan washing machines that have more capacity than this, but because it’s the twin tub I can have one night sitting in the wash water ready to start washing while the last load was in the spinner

Lid warning ...

What a curious machine. If it's any help, the German writing on the lid says not to turn the heating on without water in the wash tub. Looking at the layout, I'd take Keymatic's advice and not run the spinner with the lid open either ...

I’m not sure

If I would want to change the text on the lid to English or re-paint the German text so it looks more visible and legibleAlthough one thing is for sure, I will definitely be keeping the plug on that machine, if worse comes to worse I can replace the cord on it with a more modern version

So it has arrived

Although, There is more to the issue than Just replacing the cord, as the activator appears to be seized I’ve put some WD-40 onto it to let it soak and penetrate To try and loosen it up, anything I should do?

Not sure if it'll ship overseas.....

But look up Kroil on Ebay. I buy the 8oz cans not aerosols. Best penetrating oil on the planet. Rust etc soaks it up like a sponge and a little goes a long way. Well worth the extra cost over others.

It’s so rusted

That I’m honestly not even entirely sure how to approach this, does anybody have any steps or any advice? Because I want to at least get the activator in working order before seeingIf the heater/motor works plus I would need to replace the cord on it as well, I’m just hoping that I’m able to get it repaired, or at least have someone point me in the right direction on how to repair it myself

What is the activator made of? It looks like ceramic.

can you take some photos from other angles? Can you do macro super close-ups?

I'd like to see the end of the shaft (the threaded end) so we can see bearings, whether the shaft can be pressed out of if circlips have to come off. The more we can see, the better we can advise.

Also show us the hole where it was removed - is it rusty or in good nick?
