I found this Sharp microwave in a Goodwill the other day. I wasn't exactly in the market, but it was on clearance for less than a $1.

I am assuming that it's older, based on the weight, and the fact that the controls are rotary knobs. The top knob is the timer, the bottom knob appears to be the high-to-low setting. The top button turns it on, bottom button opens the door. These knobs are a big selling point--I really hate the user-unfriendly complexity of most microwaves.

The only real problem I see is that it does need the inside glass tray. I'll have to go back to that Goodwill--it seems to me I saw a stack of glass trays lying around. (They have a really bad habit of separating things that should stay together.)

So far, I haven't actually tested it. But I figure at less than $1, I don't have much to lose.

I'm curious if anyone knows anything about this oven. So far, my research has turned nothing.

Big fan of old microwaves!!

That's pretty cool. I would expect to see it in the galley of the Jupiter space ship in the 3rd season of "Lost In Space."

Hope you find the glass tray. If it's not at the GW, maybe you'll find one (plus more info) on ebay?

How many watts is it? Stainless interior?

I wish I had the room for my 1980 Panasonic. It was too huge to fit anywhere in my current kitchen. It did everything one would need it to do, had a temp probe, and controls were entirely mechanical. Just crank & go. None of this name rank & serial number touchpad nonsense, which I absolutely despise.

The microwave's "output power" is rated at 650 watts. The interior is not stainless.

So far, the tray hasn't turned up, but I figure sooner or later I should be able to find one.
