WOW!1 Thats a supurb Waring blender-or is it "Blendor"Reminds me of the ones I see in the Lab catalogs.-Looks like one heck of a bar blender with the SS jar.Yes--Love that is has the spline-not wagon wheel drive.Should be mixing drinks for darn near forever.

You know it's a Waring when it's a blendOr. I have the same model only a bit older, chrome and the SS jar doesn't have that ring around the bottom, it's all one piece basically. Why on earth they kept changing the couplings is ridiculous, at least Oster stuck with the same coupling up until about 2 years ago, any jar, any era always fit, except for the early cocktail bar mixers.

I too, like the Oster spline drive-but a word of warning on the newer models-they have a plastic breakaway shaft inside-if it breaks you have to take it in for service.Their older ones the spline was connected DIRECTLY to the motor shaft. No worries-thats why so many vintage Osters are still going today.
Yes--Waring should go back to and stick with their 4 side spline drive. Its the most durable of their designs.Note that those survive-the wagon wheels may have to be replaced-you can replace them yourself-Any commercial dealer that carries Waring products has them-or any large restuarant supplier has them. You have to hold the screw slot on the bottom of the motor base still with a screwdriver-then unscrew the bad drive off the motor shaft-then screw on a replacement.
Bledtec uses the metal spline drives-they even garantee it for the life of the blender.Vita-mixes spline drives can replaced by the user.

Here's 4 of my Waring blendors, the left one is the newest I got a couple of weeks ago, 2nd left is a 50's model with no handle on the jar, the ss commercial and an early 70's Futura, all but the newest one have the spline coupling and non removable base, but the blades do unlatch and come out.

Osters?

Well here's some of them, others are boxed away.
From far right
60's Beehive with 2 speed dial
60's Lady Kenmore, rebadged oster with slider control
80's 8 speed
90's 10 speed
80's Galaxie pulse matic 14
70's Imperial Dual Cycle pulse matic 16, the TOL model chrome
70's Imperial Pulse matic 10, avacado
60's beehive Supreme 3 pushbutton speeds
50's beehive Deluxe 2 speed, the juicer is sitting on it.

I like Osters as well-have a few.I am waiting for the weather to warm more and spring to come-then on the way home from work-can hunt for blenders and other stuff at YARD SALES.The sales here are interesting-no baby clothes at these-the good stuff.I found two Vita-mixes that way.both 3600.I have a splind drive Waring that I got at a swap shop in Manassas VA,has the "ice jet" attachment like shown in Brettsomers link.I don't have the spline drive container for it.The base is white.Has simple on-off toggle switch.
