Evening all,

Friday the 13th proved lucky, 3 new machines, 2 tumble dryers and 1 washing machine. These are only really standing in for models I really want but hey I was bored! The dryers were really got so I could practise my repair skills in that area. The 9325A (ideally I need a 9324A) needed a new microswitch and a clean out. The TL21P (ideally I need a TL22A as that was Mum's first dryer and a feature of my childhood) needed a capacitor. The lovely WM25A (I honestly dont know if I'm keeping this or replacing it) needed a drum transplant thanks the the cheap, cheerful and shortlived WM12. I love venting the dryers indoors, it just freshens the place up and warms it but I think I may direct the vent out through the hole in the wall where the pipes come in as the hole was left big & square enough thanks to the wooden construction of the shed. I've some cleaning and polishing to do tomorrow before I wash officially using the newbies. All machines came from behind my local & friendly electrical store. There was also a lovely early '70s Creda Autodry down there too but it was too far gone condition wise, it donated a vent hose though. I'm sure some '70s stuff will show up again. I must find a WM73 and WD22 to replace the WD61N and a 9324A.

Hotpoint on the left?

Hi there James! stunning collection you have, I'd love to own a few Hotpoint 95/97/99 Series, last one I ever saw working was I think a 95450 or something.

That hotpoint next to the WD61? Is that a 9770? Always loved those series with the dispenser drawer handle that went all across the bottom of the drawer.

Keep up the good work and those machines are in immaculate condition! Nice to see some old Hotpoints in good hands!

Lovin the collection, ive got in my wash house at current: 3x washers 3x dryers, soon to be 4. Need to tidy the house of linge up soon, ffft that will be a joke because i popped my back when i moved the new miele into place

Hi James.

The washouse is developing into a mini Hotpoint Launderette!
Superb setup you have managed to produce and eminently suitable for a place to tinker with machines. The way you are going, you will be joining the 'running out of space club' before the year is out :-)

Getting in with friendly appliance shops is the key - congrats on getting you foot in the door with one.

Keep on acquiring!
Paul

Hi Paul!

It's been a while, hope you are keeping well. Yes it's overwhelming to see so many Hotpoint logos in one place. I cant wait to find a Hoover to balance it out a bit, I was thinking a New Wave or something. My local store has been the main Hotpoint dealer in the North West for over 30 years and they only introduced other brands in the early 2000's. That's why is so easy to find an old Hotpoint here because nearly every house had one. Going down at the end of the month again with some scrap. Well I have space for 3 more washers but I will be replacing some of these machines anyway with models I stated above. I can always extend to the right a bit more but that would take some haggling!

James.

Well, that 9770 and the 9534 are definitely worth keeping! Was the 9770 a New or Next Generation? Judging by the style of the soap drawer, it is a New Generation, but correct me if I'm wrong! :)

Will you be keeping the WD61 as well?
Lovely colour it is, I love the Zircon Silver colour, had that on my old WMA64, miss that so much!!!! :(

Hi Brandon,

The 9770 is from 1991 and is a Next Gen Curry's exclusive using a New Gen fascia, dispenser and module. Mongrel but cute & cheerful.

I'm hoping to replace the WD61 with a WM73 and a WD31

My shed is starting to look more like a wash house!

You say that like it's a bad thing! You have a nice little collection going there but it needs fleshing out. There are still machines in the pictures without other machines stacked on top, so there is still room...

Hi RCD,

It's not a bad thing, TBH I only used a third of the space and some machines are yet to be replaced by models I actually want. I have a line up planned in my head.

James.

James,

I am quite impressed by the looks of your wash house. I wish I had such a nice setup. Your collection is really coming along and visualizing what you want is the key to making it happen.

Thanks for sharing your pictures.
