Gosh ... I have been soooo slammed with project work (at work and home)... that I have not had much time to concentrate on the washer/dryer hobby much the past few months at all.

However... I did travel to NYC last weekend and made 2 stops on my way home to see Graham and then to finally pick up my 1st generation flattop WP Dryer from Ted! This was the second vintage machine I every bought (last January). She is a beauty ... and matches the "Winnie the pool" sudsy washer I bought from Lebron/Jed (3rd machine purchase).

Also on this trip, I picked up the last machines I had committed to ... a gorgeous matching set of 1959 Blackstones! I had time to plug in the washer earlier tonight ... and amazingly she runs like brand new and completely ran through all cycles with out a hitch .. quiet as can be!. Of course ... she is in the garage at the moment ... so no water test is possible. The matching dryer is gas I'll plug in this week and give her a test too. They will be restored and probably have the space of honor in my new kitchen. ... or in the prime spot in washer row in the new basement.

I'll try and post more pics and info on the machines this week.

Graham also has about 10 Various Maytags available from the collection we bought last summer. We don't really want a lot $ for them ... maybe $50 bucks a machine! .. some are quite nice ... others can be used for good parts!

Good Collecting Scott

It is nice to see these cool appliances finding a new home, the BSs were Fred's parents daily drivers in Springfield Massachusetts and the first WP dryer came from Kenny Goatfarmer in Indiana, I bought it years ago and traded it to Ted.

Thanks guys!

I love them dearly ... The BS set is certainly a dream maching set for sure.
Combo52 ... thanks for the info ... love to hear more about them ...sorry I was not able to stop and see you this last trip it was a whirlwind! The BS's need to come to you an smitty for some good restoration and lovin at some point =)

=) hehehe and $ shot washer tub teaser ..

Yes goatfarmer .... that littler dryer sure has been around ... the dirty little girl!

Ha RevKev ...most of the machines are already at the other house in the basement. The black stones are in my garage at the big hosue at the moment. I'll probably bring the washer into the house so she doesn't get too cold in the Michigan winter =) . She can hang out with winnie. The BS deal has been in the works for some time ... just finally was able to work in a trip and bring them home. How's that Apex coming?

Love the Blackies

and so neat that they come from the famous Blackstone Man's parents. Is that red hoop the delicate cycle?

Red insert ..

is for the lacey frillies for sure.
I still can't believe how well the washer runs. I do just love the detaining on these early machines ... the stainless steel on the BS set certainly predates the Stainless Steel trend we have seen in the past decade. These were super quality build machines for sure, and the care and design was Optimum.

Those BS are among the top of my list for most handsome and desirable machines. Those are wonderful. Please, full wash cycle video...purty puhleaze, when you've got er' all set up.
