Hello,

I have an automatic under-counter washer in the apartment I just moved into. Unfortunately, it's name plate on the outside is so old everything is rubbed off of it. I can't see a single word anywhere. Here is what I can see from the technical plate when I open it up:

Model No.: 587.733102
Serial No.: 1135361 0684
Catalog No.: 7331

Amps Motor: 5.6 Volts 120
Other: 7.0 60Hz Phase 1

Sears Roebuck & Co.

I want to try to use this thing, which seems fairly sound otherwise, but I can't find an image of it online, and my search for parts catalogs has not turned up anything useful. It is smaller than a typical modern dishwasher (kind of a slim fit model), and on the left side on the top name plate it has two silver buttons. There's a dial on the right, and a little red light to the left of the dial. If I could somehow find an image, I could label everything.

Thanks for any and all help!

Well firstly without having to look twice that’s a Kenmore space saver model, a condensed 18inch version of the full size 24inch. I’m sure it’s from the 70s. I found a scan someone posted here I’ll leave the link for it, but I don’t think there’s much luck finding the identical control panel from yours in order to find out what cycle is what. Does it even work??

1985

That's clearly a hard working dishwasher that's still around after all this time.

This model is similar. It has a few more buttons from 1985.

The catalog no. of your is 7331. The catalog no. of the 18" built-in here is 7332. I think we may be getting close.

And

here we are. 1984

Same Cat. no. and all.

One complaint I had about the Kenmores of this era is how easily damaged the control panels were.

I had one of these

I bought one for my first condo. Installed it myself. The first of many dishwasher installations. Just did one new LG dishwasher last week. But, they say you never forget your first! The Kenmore was purchased and installed in the Fall of 1984.

1984 DNM built Kenmore dishwasher, not a washing machine

Go ahead and try to use it they worked fairly well as a dishwasher.

The good news is it’s not your problem when it floods the place or doesn’t work let the landlord know if it doesn’t work.

90% of the 18 inch dishwashers sold in the US now are all made by the same Chinese company, they work OK again they’re not great but they are a lot quieter now.
