Hi everyone. I just bought a 2003 Whirlpool Quiet partner 1 dishwasher (Powerclean) and I’m having much difficulty locating an owners manual for it.

Model number DU915PWKB0
Serial FP0723116

All I found was the manual for the electronic control DU915 which is not what I have. Mine is a mechanical timer control panel. Whirlpools website doesn’t offer it.

Any help in locating it would be great.

So I’ve never had the timer version before. I already have a portable model a little newer than this with the electronic control panel, anyway I’m just wondering how to cancel and drain a cycle as I’m going to do a test run tonight do I just need to advance the timer until the wash action stops and it goes into reverse for drain? I also wanted to know cycle times but I’ll just have to find out the old fashioned way which is alright.

Thanks.

There it is! Thank you so much!! Much appreciated.

I’m having one issue with this dishwasher though. I ran it’s test cycle and the motor runs great, sounds a little strange but runs like it should no drips or leaks and I wanted to confirm the upper arm was getting full pressure and I ran it for a few seconds a few times with the door open and the upper arm is not getting fully pressurized, the streams from the upper arm wouldn’t even reach dishes on the rack if they were up there it’s very minimal and it’s turning very slowly and I’m aware the streams should shoot as high up to the roof of the tub. Tower and upper arm are fine.

Could it be that the black rubber nozzle cap is worn out?? I know I can’t find a new one of those anymore. Everything else is perfect. And the nozzle cap doesn’t have any holes or anything. I just don’t understand why it’s not getting full pressure? It has plenty of water and is not underfilling as the water line comes a bit above the bottom of the float where it’s supposed to reach. Any ideas on how to fix this anyone? I’m not sure what to do as it won’t clean anything on the upper rack like this.

As a side note, a few years ago when I got my first Powerclean which is a direct feed I decided for the heck of it to convert it’s direct feed system over to the tower system as I had used tower parts for it (pump outlet, tower, nozzle cap and upper arm) and I had this exact same problem, but my machine would work perfectly on the upper level with the direct feed in but with the tower system in the upper arm lacked pressure. I feel that these rubber nozzle caps get very worn out over the years, can’t think of anything else.

Last non-electronic power clean dishwasher

this was a good simple machine that's for sure. A great performer. Don't know why you would need a manual for it, lol.

Make sure there's enough water in the tub for upper wash arm operation. Try adding a half a gallon and see if it works better, also be sure the lower rack's not in backwards the bumpers should be in the front against the door.

The rubber donut that seals against The center tube that sends water to the upper washarm almost never fails unless it has a split in it I haven't seen one of those split in about 20 years.

Best dishwasher ever made in the history of humanity, hands down. Best cleaning, best soil removal, most energy efficient, 100% self cleaning, while washing in a realistic amount of time. True no rinse prep loading of dishware with few dead spots.

Do not ever do away with this machine. I get very sad, angry and emotional that the production of the power cleans ceased without a single mention. If everyone was like me the Whirlpool power clean would be in 95% of all kitchens with porcelain on steal, stainless steal and plastic BOL to TOL touch screen 3 dispenser models available for purchase today.

Tall tubs are not practical, realistic or serious machines and as such they would never have caught on as power cleans were and still are perfected automatic dish-washing.

Yes John I’m aware of all that which is why I can’t figure this out. I will try the extra water and see what happens. Does anybody have a model like this that can tell me exactly where the water line should be after it’s filled up? My direct feed fills to slightly under the element which is normal I’m not sure if this tower model requires more than that? Just wanna be able to use it and have clean dishes on the upper rack lol. John I wanted the manual for several purposes to know cycle times amongst other things I needed to know out of curiosity.

Chet, I agree completely! I brag about not having to pre rinse at all these were iconic machines that shouldn’t of ever been discontinued, atleast could of been kept as a base line model maybe. I will be keeping this one and my old one no way I would get rid of either I’m committed to getting this one restored to proper working order so It can be used. It was 40$ on marketplace and in the condition it’s in I had to take it. Will eliminate the minimal rusting spots on the interior floor thankfully the racks are not rusted in the slightest anywhere. The only things I’m concerned with is one the upper arm situation and two the motor makes a very strange sound at all times when running however it runs correctly just sounds strange compared to my normal sounding portable Powerclean. I’ll be tearing the sump apart to take a look and make sure nothing is caught anywhere but the sound does come from the motor and not inside of the module it seems.
Best of all no leaks either!

Thanks. I did look up the part number 3367910 I’ve been combing online and every website that says it has a new one says it’s out of stock. I found three available, all used.…this one you sent says it’s used at the bottom and says it has a warranty. I wouldn’t be able to trust any used ones if the problem is actually due to them getting worn out overtime. This really sucks!

Question for combo52

It’s inevitable that my control board on my electronic Powerclean portable will go someday. I’ve decided I’m going to use this black machine for parts for it whenever needed. My question is, when my control board/panel goes would I be able to remove the whole door & install the door off the black unit I just got with the timer and mechanical controls? Isn’t it just a wire harness under the door that has to get plugged in? Just wondering as I will be tearing this machine apart and I’d like to save the entire door for this purpose.

Electronic to mechanical control swap

Hi Dan, yes you could take the entire door assembly from the black dishwasher and swap it onto your power clean electronic dishwasher if it's a plastic tank machine.

You could also just save the black dishwasher and put the pump assembly from your other power clean in it that would be easier, but either way it would work.

It should be fairly easy to still find a good pump assembly for the black dishwasher. there's still a lot of these machines out there and a lot of them the controls die on so the pump assembly still good.

Ok I just wanted to ask someone more inclined with working on these machines more than I have since the black one is a built in model and the one I have that’s working and being used weekly is a portable and wasn’t quite sure if the doors would be interchangeable. Great to know, thank you very much! Will be doing this in the future as I would prefer a mechanical interface instead and it works perfect still.

Hi Dan, you can also take the top and cabinet wheels and frame off the portable one and put it on the black one if you like, underneath all that your portable is really just a built-in dishwasher. It even has the feet and wheels that the built-in model has they literally take a built-in dishwasher and just put the stuff around it so it's easy to convert fully and completely

So if the time comes to make a switch, I would just use whichever machine is in better condition in his had less use.

John

Yes absolutely I’m aware of all that. That is how I explain to others who question what this big thing is in my kitchen! So many people have no idea what a portable dishwasher is and it’s quite simple. It’s just a built in model in a portable frame on wheels is all. I will have to remove the side walls and counter to be able to replace the door.

Now If I wanted to in the future I can remove it from its framing and add it into a counter permanently with the access panels from the new black model as the panel on the portable would be too tall & wouldn’t be able to bolt in when the machine has been removed from its portable casing and I’d have everything I need to transfer it over to built in like the drain hose, clamp, & those two lower door panels for built in models.

John, I have a question.

I’ve figured out how the door comes off, so easy. But before I take it off I need to remove the wiring underneath the dishwasher on both units to transfer the doors. Anyway, how do these wires come off do you just pull them right out from where they are plugged in? Some of these seem to be on there really good and I don’t wanna break them so what’s your best advice on how to unplug these? Heating coil plugs as well?? I’ll post a photo so you can see exactly what kind of wires I’m talking about. The one with the wire harness to the motor is easy enough but these other ones seem tricky and I don’t wanna break them. Also, in the second photo I circled the kind of wires I'm talking about as mentioned, what are these wires for?? It’s next to the water inlet valve.
