I'm thinking about buying an old gas cook stove made by Grand Home Appliance Company. It's a Model 747. Before I buy it I need to know if it can be converted to propane. I'm having trouble finding anyone who knows if that is possible. You folks have any ideas? Or know who I can ask?

Converting a gas stove from natural gas to propane is easy. The stove might have adjustable orifice caps or you will need to buy propane orifice caps. If you have to buy new orifice caps, try to buy adjustable ones so you can tweek the air-gas mixture. You should be able to find them at an appliance repair shop or old family hardware store, otherwise they can be found on the internet.

The orifice cap is on the burner valves and slide into the burner unit. The one for the oven will be down at the oven burner.
