Just couldn't resist. This has been bugging me for awhile. I forgot to write the model and serial as they went to the Secret Storage Annex on the Cape I think this is around 1967-69. Westinghouse Terrace Top Self Cleaner with NoTurn Speed Broil. The guy couldn't find the other Element for the Broiler.

This baby is in decent shape for it's age. Original to the house, as usual a young couple bought the house and wanted Stainless. A little Spiffing Up and I think she'll be a beauty. The "Guy" said everything works. Can't wait to work on this one.

Great find Eddie! I've never seen one of those Westinghouse 'speed broil' units up close - I'll bet if you dig around the element will surface!

I may have some Corox range elements (like a full set!) that would fit this model. Are they plug-out style??

Hi Louis.

I couldn't believe it when I found that range.  It has been on CL for awhile. The price kept coming down, finally I had to have it.

I was hoping to find a full back splash like Kevin's but this will do nicely.

Can't wait to gussy her up.

Backsplash

Did these stoves come with a lighted "backsplash"panel? I really like this stove...alot more with that panel. Kevin could cook rocks and it would be entertaining. (side note)[this post was last edited: 12/4/2015-22:12]

Congratulations Eddie! I remember you posted that you wanted one of these some time ago.
Did you offer it to yourself as a birthday present!?

Happy belated birthday BTW!

Why Yes Phil. You guessed it.

Thank You for the belated. I'm going to New Jersey tomorrow and wish you were going with me for that ride.

I really hope to see you soon. Going to get my second present.

(Pulls Cape over my face like a villain and exits).  LOL

Congratulations Eddie on this stove. Unlike PhilR, I didn't know it was your birthday nor that you wanted one of these stoves, so double congrats for each event. :-)

I did ask - did these stoves come with a back light backsplash unit like Kevin's? Anytime CL searches I've done that bring these stoves up all show a clock or sometimes nothing. I'm wondering - where are the backsplashes that light up? Did the owners eat them? LOL.

Anyways - yours looks good. Compared to one out there for sale now, it looks new.

Thanks Ovrphil

I am not verse in Westinghouse like some.  I have no idea if the Lighted Back Splash was a option or not.

I will get creative over time and try to design-figure something "lit" and a back splash.

This should be fun.

Congratulations Eddie on your 1962(?)terrace top stove. Unlike PhilR, I didn't know it was your birthday nor that you wanted one of these stoves, so double congrats for each event. :-)

I did ask - did these stoves come with a back light backsplash unit like Kevin's that is shown in his pineapple cream pie video? Any CL searches I've done that bring up these Westinghouse stoves... all show a clock or sometimes nothing. I'm wondering - where are the backsplashes that light up? Did the owners eat them? LOL.

Anyways - yours looks good. Compared to one out there for sale now, it looks new.

Thanks Ovrphil for the Congrats. The stove for sure, the Birthday...not so much. LOL

The range you have pictured looks like a dog of a range compared to the one I just grabbed and mine was a fraction of the price. The one I scored has no chips on the porcelain at all and will clean up really nice. I can't wait to cook and bake with this range.

Young owners that purchase homes have one thing on their mind these days.  And that is their kitchens must look like every one of their friends.  Granite, Stainless, etc... Yawn... to me anyways.

He just wanted the stove out of the garage.  The range I picked up is a Self Cleaner and has the Infamous "No Turn Speed Broil" for a fraction of what that $250 dollar range in the pic is.

As soon as I get mine detailed and in place, I will definitely post pics.

I think it will turn out close to new.

Eddie - Yep, you did good young man; had to post a comparative model. Can you believe that asking price? Mwah-hahahahah. We'll be looking for the cleanup and install photos, if you decide to do that.

I'm having a time getting an answer to this:

Did these stoves come with a backsplash/light unit as pictured in the advertisement or was it an option? And what's up with so many of these terraced tops not having it attached? I'm a little mystified how these stoves get sold without the backsplash, let alone the clock (like that turquoise unit).

Thanks and replies by anyone appreciated.

O'Phil...

I could see the range being sold without a clock/Time/Time Cook feature as a BOL unit.

I would think that MOL would include a Clock and Timer.

TOL, similar to what I have aquired NEEDS the Clock/ Timer/ Oven Start/Stop feature for the Self Cleaning Oven.

The Back Splash issue I would think it would be part of a TOL option.

I'm sure John LeFever or Tomturbomatic are the 2 gents that come to mind that would probably be able to answer this as they are  well versed in all appliances.

Come to think of it, Pat Coffey (appliguy) would know as well. Pat is also a fountain of knowledge as well. And let's not forget Hans (norgeway) as he is an Oracle on Stoves.

The knowledge in this Club is amazing.  I'm sure some one will chime in shortly.

Anyone else, please do not be offended if I did not mention your name

Oops. I hope I didn't sound impatient(he says covering his head). If these were tiered upgrades, then it makes sense now. Knowledge depth here in the group is amazing. Thanks again Eddie, and anyone else with same or different information.

Have a great weekend!

phil...

Not at all.  I was just guessing why these models are so different.

I just got the Model and serial off the Range at the storage site.

There is some schmutz on the Tag that won't come off... but what I can see is NTorIK3DHW1

You too Sir, Have a great weekend too.
