hey Mike. Congratulations. I think you'll enjoy it. I got a burr in my saddle last fall that I wanted a toaster oven, but I wanted something that asa as full functional as possible. That left me with either the Cuisinart or the Breville SmartOven. I ended up with the Breville. I stook in BB&B for 1/2 an hour messing with the two before i finally opted for the Breville. It was heavier too. It's not quite as wide as yours (but mine can take a 9 x 13 pan that doesn't have handles on the end) but it's a little bit taller inside and slightly deeper I do belive. I also decided I was personally tired of buttons, I wanted knoobs (he he he). And the display was eaasier for me to read. Although without lids (and the books encourage one tonot use glass lids), I can get a 5 quart corningware pot, a 4.5 L Visions roaster, the 4 quarter Corninng Ware dish I cot at the estate sale at the 2002 Convention, and my 4 quart Pyrex Compatible fasserole dish. It's become my primary oven, I odn't feel guilty about turning it on for one or two chicken breasts. Since I got it, I think I've used my regular oven 3 times. I done pound cakes and bread and rolls in it too. I'm very pleased. I think you will enjoy yours too and will be a geat 2nd oven for y'all.
I'd be very leery about using it arranged in that corner like that and so close to the curtains. I just looked at your manual and it says the same as mine, 2-4 inches awway from a wall. I always unplug mine too.
