I'm very excited as i finally found a 1960's model ( I think) GE FF washer with a lighted console andd mini wash - its neat! more pics to come tomorrow! It has a turguoise tub and programmed cycles - needs a belt and some cosmetic work but overall not a spot of rust!

Can't wait to check it out tomorrow after work and take pics for all to see.

In the mean time- anyone in the northeast want an alvocado FF to have as a tinker toy - it works great and I enjoy using it but no room for all of these.

let me know!

Matthew

Matt, how exciting, can't wait to see pictures! Those turquoise tub machines are very neat!

I'm still rooting for an Americana Dispensall...you're bound to come across one in the future, especially since 2006 has been a great year for appliance finds so far!

One of my dream machines, I think,

What you're describing sounds very much like a WWA9600 circa 1969-1970. Does it have built-in dispensers for bleach and softener mounted on both the left and right sides of the tub?

And does it look something like this:

YES!

That is my exact machine - but only has a bleach dispenser. I'm so excited because it is in near perfect condition - i have no idea how it works mechanically until i get to go up to my parents tonight and check it out. I hope its only the belt because thats what it appeared to be unless there is a tranny problem. I also need to replace the back of the backsplash because they bent it badly when they removed it from this womens house. Luckily i have another from an old dryer that i can use.

I will post pics tonight after i get home from playing with it.

Who knows - if i get a Dispensall i'll maybe give up this one too...

Matthew, congrats on your new washer find. The pic above is of my washer, a GE Programmed Washer with Mini-Wash. It from about 1968, and its a fabulous washer. Mine above has a timed bleach dispenser which is a rare find in a GE washer. I date it from 1968 as I have a magazine ad for mine from August 1968 that shows them in the "new for 1968 color" HarvestGold. This is a great washer with lots of wash and rinse options.......mine has the curved vane agitator.........

The fabric softener dispenser for this model does indeed go on top of the FilterFlo pan. However, it serves two purposes in this machine. It can either be used for fabric softener, OR it can be used as a detergent dispenser for the second wash option on this washer, as long as liquid detergent is used. This washer also offers a SOAK option, COLD wash option, EXTRA rinse option, or can be set for any combination of options.

Congrats GEExtraRinse and FilterFlo on your washers! GE's are my favorite and those are one of their best. I can't wait to see the pics, hurry please!

Wow Matt, what a find, I LOVE that model! The programmed cycles and the little Osterizer-style modifier buttons are just too neat! Does yours have the Ramp Activator as well?

Matt, please take close-up pics of the cycle buttons so I can see what each name is and if possible, the programming description for each button on the underside of the lid. Have always wanted to see one of these up close & personal.

GE filter flo

My sister had that same model in Maryland. It came with the townhouse they bought in Joppatown out in Harford County. The agitator was a straight vain and the mini basket was huge.
