New Finds!-Need Help

Hi All,

I have been very lucky as of late and I have found three dishwashers:

1: asko d1606, stainless steel similar to the d1705model,works great but needs a new button basket and cutlery draw- heater has melted the cutlery department!

2:Another Asko D1986, also stainless steel, works but needs a new element and the top rack slider needs new bearings.

-what I was wondering with these ones is, I have found an asko 1705 on eBay cheap - which has a sticky timer ( everything else works) so I was wondering would the elemnt work in the D1986 and I would assume the baskets would be fine in the d1606?

The last find I bought

3:A miele g863vi off a man who had inherited it from a shed( with a house he bought, the rest of the kitchen was there but I only bought the dishwasher. The machine works great but I noticed that the element does not seem to work- one hour after putting the machine on, the water is cold and the machine will just keep running, the element itself looks fine, clean not darkened etc- is their any thing I can do to check if it is any wire or a dodgy sensor - I don't want to have to buy a new element!

Also where would I find a cheap element for it? - if worst come to worst!

On the Miele it could be either the element (just check it with a multimeter), the heater relai (it should click when the heater is switched on) or worst case, the PCB/Timer (don't know the modell, but thats nearly always the same...).

I know how to check the element -will do that soon, but how do I check the relay ?

Miele Heat!

I dont know why but i took the base of the machine off and (i think a tempreture sensor) had clicked out and i pushed a little red knob in and the machine is now heating ! - i have only tryed one empty cycle so far - fingers crossed!

OK, that had been the overheat-high-limited-thermostat that hat reacted. Sorry I forget about that XD. Maybe someone poored somthing like still hot tea in the DW and that caused the thermostat to react..

Would the asko d1986 have one?

-a thermostat thing??

As long as it got a heater, there should be a overheating switch. But probably if it got one, it won't be a resetable one...

Miele!

Bthe Askos are now fixed!!

But since I have installed the miele the machine leaks!!

During a cycle water will leak from the bottom right hand side of the door, it will gather at the top then leak down on the inside of the machine and drip from the door!
How do I fix??
Can I tighten the door??

Is it leveled correctly? If so, check if the door closes securely and if all seals are in tip top fighting condition...
