That control panel doesn't look vastly different from the previous vented ones though, does it? All the vented ones I've seen in stores have had the dial in the middle and the smooth panel with text like that one.

Its a different font, and the buttons are up down, as opposed to across (like on the previous/current range), (Different buttons too) Its got a wave drum, current ones only had wave paddles and smooth drum. The dial has OFF included, no off/on button.

Ah. Maybe Currys had some newer models in store 'early' then (like about 3 months ago) as there were some like that then.

One thing I noticed at the time was that, on condenser ones, the bottom of the range timer model had really tinny and cheap feeling buttons, but the sensor models felt a lot more solid.
