Gawd I am moist!!!!!! Love the lights but I also love the racking and that adjustable center for the silverware tray. That alone is a godsend. Nice machine and I cant wait to see it in person!

That's happening because of the kitchen exhibition in Milan
Eurocucina is round the equivalent of Cologne Domotechnica (german appliance eshibition) it's just more into kitchen appliances and furniture tech
That's why BSH also launched the new air condensed washer-dryer combo on the italian website (I've posted another thread about it)

Nice ideas... the only pain in the behind with our 5 year old Miele dishwasher is that you struggle to fit long stemmed wine glasses in top basket due to the cutlery tray - not a problem as you can put them in the multi-function rack on the left of the bottom basket, but nice to see little issues like this addressed. Same with larger cutlery items in the tray - no longer a need for the mini cutlery basket.
The interior light though seems a bit pointless to me - I see where it helps on laundyr appliances as you're reaching into a cavity, but with dishwashers you're pulling the actual racks into the light of the room so this doesn't prove a problem, at least not for us where the dishwasher is in the centre of the kitchen.

I see... I think the Domotechnica has been cancelled. The IFA in Berlin, which used to be only about computers, TVs, cell phones etc., now also includes appliances. I'm planning on going there in September.

your're right... also what about those handles with the miele logo ?? BSH machines already have them, WP Europe (WP,Bauknecht and KitchenAid) have them too ...

The only real thing I like about the new generation of dishwashers is the layout of the bottom rack - it's quite American if you may with 3 parallel rows. Saying that, when it comes for me to buy a dishwasher in the next couple years I would probably opt for a Siemens... you get more features for less dosh, with an equal length 5 year guarantee.
BTW if you drop me an email and I can send you the manual for the new BSH washer dryers. Would post the link but for some reason the Bosch manuals site isn't working for me atm :/

So true. See how Miele now offers a Bottom Basket Intensive option? The same thing is also offered by Asko, Whirlpool, B/S/H, Blomberg... Not saying that it's useless, but every manufacturer is offering it, now.

I told you when you got that Miele you should've gone for a Tall tub variant
No issues with fitting wine glasses under the Cuttlery tray in the G2XXX series, even with 28cm plates in the bottom.
We bought the Bosch for Michaels mum, because it is significantly cheaper than the Miele, I like the upper rack in the bosch, it holds much more than the Miele does, but getting used to a bottom rack with a cuttlery basket in the way, and tines that seem very short and fiddly in comparison to the Miele Plate guard stuff, takes some doing, particularily in mixed loads. I guess I've been spoilt for too long.
I'd buy Miele again purely for the lack of cuttlery basket on the bottom and the Plate guard racks.
I know Bosch sell a cuttlery tray now, but I'm not convinced that the sprinkler above it can do the same job as a 3/4 sized spray arm.
I think the new Miele rack looks interesting, the ability to fit two rows of plates in the bottom, would be amazing

I'm not concerned about
the showerthing but more about the tiny rows. I think the spikes are too close together so some of my spoons won't fit...

Favorite...I am like Jamie i love interior lights even if it not a function, it looks really nice if illuminated correctly when it shines on the stainless.
Makes people notice it, not your average machine when you open it in the kitchen.
Plus it makes you feel good when you see it shine, with the lights on in it for me anyway.
Now if they only could give us a window, that would be the cream of the crop !

Hey its been a while. I upgraded my G 2830 for a G 2834 and can't believe the difference in performance. Don't get me wrong the G 2830 worked great, but the G 2834 has many more great features. I have mine connected to a hot water supply of 55 degrees C and the wash times are shorter than on my G 2830 for the same cycles. I like the Turbo function and I use it on the Sensor wash which brings the time down to 1h10 min or Light soiling with turbo 58 minutes. I like the Drying plus function which opens the door at the end of the cycle. The turbo function increases the pump pressure and its noticeable you can hear the water circulating faster. I have tried the new Finish Quantum Powerballs and the drying results are as good as using a separate rinse aid. I also use the Miele Tabs, Powder and rinse aid.
The new Miele G 5000 fits up to 3 rows of plates across, a great feature if you have a lot of smaller plates, but the basket has been redesigned as the need for inserts is no longer necessary when washing large plates up to 35 cm

Favorit that is a FANTASTIC machine Like Robert said dishwashers should be seen !
I would not no how to act if that was a regular dishwasher those sprayarms are
to die for, could you imagine that in your kitchen i would cook three times a day just to collect dishes lol.
The bottom machine is a dream i will take two of them please...
