Help Support :

LUCKY!!!

I wish I could afford a set and had the space! However, there won't be much room in a dorm room for a set come fall... lol

However, I think I might prefer the stainless Miele Professional version of this set!

Congratulations mieleforme, I can't wait to hear all ya have to say about them. YOu taking off work, playing with the machines, and doing laundry?

I would dig that professional set for sure. I’ve seen them before, but talk about expensive…. $3700.00 for this set was on the edge of too much, but I’m going to trust in Miele and hopefully make out better in the long run.

Working shift work I have the next two days off so yes, I will be putting these things to the test. Wife should enjoy not having to do the laundry for a few more days/weeks. I even scored the service manuals for both units; I have already decided what program functions I am going to change with both the washer and dryer. What a nerd I am……

What a nerd I am……

Naaaww, not at all. Just being cool, in tune, and in touch. What functions are ya going to change? How were ya able to get a set of the service manuals? Can't wait to hear your feedback.

I’ve decided to turn on the suds cooling, Sensor controlled rinse process, Hygiene option and turn off the bleach dispenser, as I will not be using it. I’m going to experiment with the factory set water levels before I adjust those. However I see myself adding the extra rinse option, not sure on increasing the water levels yet, maybe both who knows.

On the dryer I am only adding an extra 10 min cool down period for now. Depending on my drying results I will go back and adjust the conductivity settings and or dryness levels on the moisture monitor.

I got the manuals from someone on the Garden Web form. If anyone wants them shoot me your email.

Cool!!! Looking forward to hearing about your observations and perceptions. I thought about ya a couple of times during work today thinkin that guy is home bonding with his Mieles. I'll send ya an email a little bit later.

"Hygiene Info"

Maybe you already know it .... anyway repetita juvant :)

Hygiene Info
- Off
- On

is NOT a true sanitize cycle for laundry. It displays a warning on the screen when the previous cycle had a temp lower than 140°F.
The washer asks you if you want to sanitize the tub before your next load. Not necessary if next load will be @ 140 at least,
maybe it is useful if you're about to wash your wool jumper and your neighbour has just washed dog blankets ....

If you enter "ok" the machine will run a empty short, very hot cycle to sanitize the tub.

This feature is used on the Little Giants in condos / multiple households installations or laundromats
IMHO it is useless in a normal household, where one (maybe 2) person deal with laundry and does know what he/she has done before

"Hygiene Info"

According to what I read it prompts you to to a high temp (sanitize cycle) if you haven't done a high temp cycle in a while. Just to insure the machine stays clean. I know its not that big of a deal considering I will be doing hot washes but I thought I would switch it on any how. I doubt I will ever see the prompt to "clean Machine, or sanitize" But you know..... Just incase :)

nice machines

... it very strange to see some miele laundry appliances without the good old yellow key to open the door.

There's no game, the W48XX look far better than the european 24" series W4000/W6000.

I find this W6766 a bit out of proportion to the W4840

W4000/W6000

I agree, I also don't like that solid round door on the dryer it looks odd. I like the fact they are both glass on this series. So far, I understand why I paid what I did. Seriously, these machines are so well thought out, even if they don't last 15 years I'll continue to buy Miele. Even the drums look cool!

reprogramming

As far as the washer goes adjust what you want. I tried to reprogram my 4800 and it wont work. But on the dryer you may find that it wont need reprogramming. Try it the way it is straight from the factory first. Oh and you wont need an extra 10 mins for cooldown. The clothes are room temp when the dryer stops. The other thing I have to stress is DONT USE DRYER SHEETS!! The powder from the sheets clog the filter and impede the airflow and you will hear it. Enjoy your set.

Nice Insides!

The insides look similar - here is the smaller W3033 model for the USA.

Love mine!!!
Andrew
