I noticed some brands dropped last year are coming back. We're bringing back Xtra and Era, two brands that were popular. And we're adding the Arm & Hammer gels, some Tide formulas (Coldwater is the big one in the liquids, Tide w/Downy in the powders). I guess Walmart realized that it cut too much when it eliminated SKUs last year.

The Wal*Mart in Worthington, MN has recently added bagged Foca detergent to their shelves. We have a sizable Hispanic population in SW Minnesota. I saw a couple of Caucasian women looking at the bagged detergent and deciding it would be too messy to deal with, so they passed on it.

While many of us here at AW have become accustomed to the bagged packaging format (having shopped at Mexican grocery stores to pick up Ace, Ariel, etc), most ordinary Janes and Joes haven't seen it before.

P&G has begun listing ingredients

YES, but what they DON't do is tell you the % of the ingredients.

Well do not think any consumer product lists detailed percentages of contents, not even food. Even MSDS only list a range of possibly dangerous ingredients.

As with other products, P&G does show a listing from highest to lowest concentration, which gives pretty good information, it is vastly better than what came before.

Back to those listings for Tide "Free" HE and Tide CW HE liquids.

Both contain soap, (take that Persil and other European detergents boasting about Savon de Marseille and so forth), and are loaded with the same sort if not the same chemicals found in various Ariel (P&G's "Tide" in the UK and elsewhere), including various polymers.

Speaking of polymers, Tide HE "free" liquid contains one to deal with clay soils, versus TCW "free" liquid, which does not.

Here's what's out so far

I got to seem some of the new liquids. We're adding back Xtra (Mountain, Tropical and a new Scentsation: Calypso), Era (Regular, Regular HE), Gain (Island Fresh HE, Spring Lavender liquid and w/Febreze 50 oz.) and Tide Coldwater (Regular scent - 75, 100 & 150 oz.), We're adding new formulas (Tide Coldwater Free, Arm & Hammer OxiClean Power Gel). There's only one new Sun Products product: All Small & Mighty Stainlifter in the 96 oz. bottle. There's some new additions in powders, too: Tide Lavender 120 load and Tide w/Downy Clean Breeze 80 load are the big additions to the powders.
