The new Samsung 26 Cubic foot 3 door is working great except there was on hitch up in our get along, the ice-maker. Turns out because our unit didn't have a water dispenser the air from refrigerator's water supply was not bled as it would otherwise be when someone went to use the water dispenser for the first time.
Thus no water was getting to the ice maker located in the bottom freezer. The fix was simple, but with a twist...however i am getting ahead of myself:
It was a dark and stormy night and i called the 800 service number and the Samsung tech. answered. And when i say tech i mean a non-tech reading from a manual on her computer screen. She said to press and hold the hidden "reset" button on the ice maker for 8 seconds.
"No dice sister", i muttered after a number of trys. {crickets}
Ahem, okay, cutting to the chase, a repairman eventually arrived checked the water line, "Aok" he muttered, and then he pressed the reset button *until* the system was bled and water started to fill the ice trays...more like 30- 40 seconds of continuous pressing than the aforementioned 8!
Okay,
The End,
run credits...
