Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Still one wonders what other goodies were chucked away. Do not understand why family and or those handling estates do not consider donating things instead of rubbishing

Because they are lazy and they may look at it like "I got what I wanted, F*** everyone else!" They want to get every thing taken care of as quickly as possible so they can get their cut.

I've had one

since our Chef Escott left Magic Pan to go to California in 1987 I paid $200-250 for his and remember jumping at the chance to buy it. Have had it since then, I can tell you don't put the parts in the dishwasher because after years of doing that, the detergents swelled the plastic and now its very difficult to separate and join the bowl pieces together.

If germs are your thing make a 5% bleach solution in the sink and soak for 10 minutes then hand wash - Boom Boom Done you're safe.

Great machine and the perfect size I think.

-HOLLA -  Magic Pan Forever !

Thanks Guys!

Frig, don't you worry about a thing, only ran parts though once and everything fit back nicely. Rarely use the heating portion of the Mobile Maid anyway (better to preserve the Plastisol lining and racks) and nothing was placed in the bottom racks.

Really wanted to run some parts through due to how the thing was given to us. I mean you don't know where things have been do you? Now that one is satisfied of sanitation going forward will wash by hand. Was pretty much planning on doing so anyway since there isn't enough room in either upper rack for certain parts. In particular the chute thing keeps the lid from closing all the way and certainly wouldn't force.

To each his/her own. My DLC 7 would be either long gone or unused if I had to hand wash it. It's vintage 1980's and has gone throught the dish washer thousands of times I'd guess by this point. Yes, it has developed a crack on the plunger as previouls noted, and I am on the lookout for a replacement bowl, but it's still fully operable and I use it when I need.

Unless you enjoy hand washing stuff -some do I do not - there is no place for "delicate" kitchen equipment. Other than wooden utensils and pasty brushes plus a piece or two of calfilon everything in my kitchen goes in the dishwasher.
