I love my Miele Ariel S5 vac. I pay on average about $18 for a box of G/N bags, so they are not cheap by any means and I only use the Miele Genuine ones. I did try the 3M ones that the vac dealer said would work just as well as the Miele made ones, and the 3M ones were cheaply made and didn't hold as much and i had to change out the bags sooner before the pores were clogged on the bag. So lesson learned with those bags.
I also have a Dyson upright that I never use anymore. I find that the Miele has way more suction power compared to the Dyson and isn't as messy to empty as the Dyson is. Granted the Dyson doesn't use bags, but one has to go outside to empty the damn dirt container since if I do it in the house, I get a cloud of dirt, dust and cat fur. I use the Miele everyday. I also paired the Miele with the AirTeq floor nozzle that does quite an impressive job. The floor tool the vac came with does ok, but the AirTeq really pulls the dirt out of the carpets and floors and corners.
