Well I have crossed over to the other side. Despite the name Cbosch when the bearings went on the bosch on tuesday I went for a Miele instead. i am now the proud owner of a W1747 washing machine. I got it today thanks to comets quick delivery system and what a machine it is. I have never had washing so clean. Have only done two loads so far, a minimum iron 40 degree, with water plus and the level was superb. Water 1/3 up the window. And cottons 95 load of towels and the funny drum rythmn made for superb washing. 1400 spin made them come out dry as a bone, I don't know what I have been missing all my life! Tomorrow light colours and a chance to experiment with shirt, denim or dark cycle.
I will post pics and hopefully some videos as soon as my digital camera is charged.

Congratulations

Hi Cbosch,
Congratulations on your new Miele I'm sure you will be delighted with it. Miele call their special tumbling rhythm the Hydromatic wash system, it appears to enhance the action of the Scoop & Ladle action.
I wish you many years of reliable and happy washing.

Hi Richard,
Here are a couple of pics of my 1800RPM Miele Navitronic W3985WPS for you. I took them a few minutes ago, it is doing a load on Minimum Iron at 40°C.

Hydromatic washsystem

David, the hydromatic washysystem is a symstem that had been introduced 20 years ago. Miele guarantees that the wash time on Cottons is always +/- 2 hours long. It has nothing to do with the wash rhythm or something like that.

BTW: Congrats for the new Miele and happy washing with it!

My god make a stainless steel color 3986 miele with blue led writing and lights on the control panel and i'll buy one lol

I like them navitronics it's one machine this hotpoint needs a replacement for but at moment the hotpoint still sounds quiet and this ultima i have won't give up without a fight, god help me lol.

I've trained on a W3985 at work. Have used MDU(fiber optic interface) and programmed the machine. It's not so fancy as it seems, but it works.

Hydromatic Wash System

Hi dyson2drums,
That is actually "Maximum water level rinses" selected through the service menu (Thanks to lavamat_jon for that), the Water Plus level is actually much lower only coming up the door glass an inch or so.

Hi Darren,
Yes its quite smart looking but I originally wanted the W4446WPS however Miele Ireland supply the Northern Ireland market and for some reason they do not import the 4000 series machines. The styling of the Navitronic has grown on me to the point where I now prefer it lol.

Hi Variomatic,
It was Miele Ireland that described the varying tumble speed as the Hydromatic Wash System; I telephoned them last year to ask why the drum speed varies from slow to almost distribution speed and back down again. The girl I spoke to first had no idea what I was talking about but she transferred me to a gentleman who advised me that it was called the "Hydromatic Wash System" and its purpose was to circulate the load within the drum, i.e. move items from the centre of the load to the outside and from front to back. He also said it enhanced the showering action of the Scoop and Ladle drum baffles especially at the slow speeds. Whatever it's called it does seem to be very effective in circulating the wash load.
Perhaps Tom Timon90 could find out more about this for the group?

Hi Richard,
Blue LEDs just would not look right on a Miele, in fact Hotpoint have changed their new Ultima range to amber coloured displays like the Aqualtis. The best display I have seen on any machine was on my Electrolux Insight EWN14991W, it had an animated full graphic LCD display with a pale blue back light.
