I have this bad habit or curse, that once I come across a machine, more seem to follow.....first it was the Neptunes, then Maytags, Frigidaire FL, GE FilterFlos, even a Kenmore, and now 1-18's.......

So in adding to the collection.....found at a thrift store, RanchHope for troubled teens, a matched set, talked down to 80.00 for the pair, needed some cleanup, a few pieces, thanks to Darren and John, and cleaned the rollers......Quiet as ever.....this makes 2washers and an electric dryer...so far!

Thump, Thump,Thump, Thump, Thump,Thump, Thump, Thump. LOL

FRIGIDAIRE The home environment division of General Motors

FRIGIDAIRE bothers to build in more help.

Every refrigerator is not a Frigidaire
Every Frigidaire is not a refrigerator

fabulous pair!!

YAY!!!  Nuttin like a thumper!!  You'll whittle those mountains of laundry down in no time with tha cavernous tub.  I was able to make one load of towels in a 1/18 that would normally consist of two 3/4 full loads in the Lady Shredmore.  All very clean and well rinsed!!!   Also remember, for best roll-over slightly underfill the washer as far as water level is concerned or conversely what you would think would be wayyy overloading the machine, will give great results in turnover on full water level.

I had the same model washer---another drag-home item found behind the appliance store across the street from me when I lived downtown in a warehouse apt. Great turnover, and you'll definitely be able to hear that thumping all over the house, LOL. Congrats on finding a pair in such great shape!

Can't wait, Martin

to hear how you like the circle jet spray rinse. Think there are 12 opening in the circle. When GM Frigidaire changed over to big perf tubs, we knew they'd have to come up with a suitably dramatic substitute for the overflow rinse, and so they did, the circle spray jet rinse and fill.

Hi Martin

My parents had one of these in white with a glass window in the lid. I cannot remember what year it was. I think early 70's??? Can anyone help me out here?

Before that they had a Rapid Dry 1000. Both really great machines. Wish I had one now.

OH, I am learning fast along the way....love the circle spray, all the way into the rinse cycle, and the slight lower-water level gives great rollover....and these machines hold a lot......

but my gluten is the Avocado set, and a white washer to match.......
