Well well well.  Looks like a certain AW member left town a few years too soon.

What a total time-capsule--don't see things laying around like this too often anymore! There was one just like this in my place when I bought it a dozen years ago. I got rid of it when I moved mine in…wish I'd payed more attention to finding out actual manufacturer…it Sort of reminds me of some of the Amana units from the era… saved the rest of the pics here in case the thing sells quickly.

Wards 28CF SXS Ref

This unfortunately is an Admiral POS, yes it is too bad that its not one of the better Frigidaire built refs, however FD never made a ref this big.

There was little good about these refs, they were noisy, the Ice Makers were constantly broken [ after Maytag bought Admiral they immediately switched to using WPs IM and had a kit to install it in the older refs like this ] The plastic door panels would crack around all the screws and eventually pull loose from the outer doors, the freezer doors filled with moisture and ice as a result making this problem all the more severe.

Worst of all you need your own sub-station to run this thing, the power draw is around 500 watts and it runs at least 70% of the time in an average temperature room.

The other sad thing about Admiral refs was this was one of the acquisitions that brought the Maytag down.

But it is a really cool find and it belongs in a museum hopefully someone will save this.

Surprise! Signature = Junk

John, your statements confirm everything I suspected about this fridge.

Whenever I see something like this, my Post-Traumatic Signature Disorder flares up.
