Speaking of Norge......

I was an old advertising promotion for Norge. It is a small plastic magazine insert, like a cheap 45 rpm, on which the jingle is "Knock on any Norge."

I should find it, see if it is not too scratched up.

My parents had a less decked-out version of this same dryer in gas.  I have to admit that despite being a Snorge 2000, it did its job well and never had a problem.  My main complaint about it was the end of cycle buzzer.  Way too loud, and I couldn't find any way to adjust it.

Same dryer we with the MC badge.  The one I had years ago had a tendency to ruin the rear rollers. Two sets of them in fact.  IMHO, I think there was an issue with the drum,  it had a slight ka-klunk even when it was brand new.  In fact the MC washer outlasted the dryer. I am just a big fan of WP top filter dryers.

Last Norge Designed Dryers

These came out around 1980 when Norge finally abandoned their bigger dryers that flocked thousands of laundry rooms all over the country with lint.

These were fairly large capacity dryers considering their smaller size, but like their predecessors had many problems and never made a dent in the history of quality dryers.

These dryers were always slower than their competition, they only ever had a 4700 watt element and a 18,000 BTU burner in the gas versions. And even worse they crammed the heater in such a small area under the plastic control panel that the Hi-limit thromostat had to be so sensitive that the heat was off more than on if the machine had more than 6 feet of exhaust connected to it.

Common repair problems included, blower wheels that stripped off the motor shaft { just like MT dryers did ] Bad rear rollers, bad front drum slides, clogged lint filter housings and just overall poor construction. Overall they have about 1/2 the useful life as a WP built dryer.
