With all the horrors that entailed the swastika did not have the same evil meaning it did after.

Remember that line from play and film "The Women" where Mrs. Moorehead tells her daughter Mary about the joys of being a single (widowed or divorced) woman.

"It's wonderful to spread out in bed like a swastika...."

That film was made in the 1930's...
