Hi all, first time poster long time listener.
Im working on an article about the history of Maytag and its downfall into the Whirlpool purchase.
The area I'm still researching and oddly closest today is in just before the acquisition.
I know the Neptunes had huge issues, but I've been hearing a lot of discussions here and there about the Performa and Amanatags that had issues as well. Obviously Maytag wanted more budget friendly models and made changes and decisions to make that happen.
But my impression that, of the two, the Amanatag had more systemic issues with the triple lip problems among others.
But I was curious about any servicers opinions on this since all the machines I touched were well outside of the warranty and better built than the more modern trashy competitors.
Thanks for the advice!
