Here's a pic taken back in November 1979. The proud owner of a brand new 79 Goldwing. The one was taken on Sunshine coast north of Vancouver. Still have that bike though it's not running right now and needs a ton of work. Still have most of my hair too..lol
My first big trip on that bike was the following May 1980 enroute to SF and hit Mt St Helens the morning of the eruption

I was just sitting here going thru my shoppng bag full of pics..never was good at photo albums..awful how some have deteriorated and others look so good (the pictures I mean lol)

I'm not really sure how old I was in that pic. I think about 7-8

I've scanning my old photos and practicing on "restoring" them using Paint Shop Pro. Quite a learning experience.
 
re the Mt St Helens
I had left Seattle early early that morning heading to Portland to meet up with some friends, we were all going down to SF on our bikes. Didn't know anything had happened until St Helens and the freeway was shut down, wasn't a lot of traffic that early so the Sheriffs had put up a roadblock and had to back track then take a road down to the coast and cross over at Astoria.. It took about 8 hrs for what would have been about an 1 hr on the fwy. Couldn't see much and didn't really grasp that it was anything major..until the next day on the news and such, coming back though about a week or so later was something else, looked like white christmas with all the ash everywhere and so deep,, they were plowing the freeway off and parking lots, mountains of the stuff like a huge huge blizzard.
 
Astoria

Funny. We have an Astoria here in New York. Had to actually think for a second, there

Our Astoria is in Queens county (in New York City)
and is just across the river (to the east) from the island of Manhatan (Central/inner/downtown NYC)

It is geographically Long Island, but politically New York City.

one word: HAIR !

Me in the late eighties....right after I decided to leave the seminary and move back to arkansas from St. Louis. I was about 26 in this picture.
 
Uploading a large picture will adjust the DISPLAYED size of it to fit the screen at 1024x768 or whatever are the dimensions (as in X number of pixels by X number of pixels), but not the file size (as in 750 MB or whatever).
