Had Christmas dinner over at my sister in law's new home. Had a very delicious prime rib dinner. While conversing and snacking on hors d'ouevres in the kitchen, I looked around. I came around to the range, and I just couldn't help but notice something a wee bit disturbing.
Most of us know that pretty much all stainless freestanding ranges have black tops and sides, except on this one the stainless panels are GLUED on rather being fabricated of stainless. It appears Electrolux just pulled some black ranges off the line and tacked on thin stainless panels on front facing surfaces rather than fabricating the door frames, drawer and control panel out of stainless.
The stainless face on the control panel is glued on as well as the face on the warming drawer below the oven. Especially disturbing was the oven door. The entire front is glass with a stainless steel frame glued to the glass. There's about 1mm of glass at the edge of the stainless frame.
I wonder what shortcuts were taken to attach the glass front to the door assembly?
