I came home this morning and Tony had a load washing in the Asko.  Out of the blue it starts ticking.  I thought it may be a relay so I started listening around the controls.  I put my hand on the timer knob and I could feel the ticking inside.  It is not the belt as the washer was draining at the time.  It also is NOT the pump.  Maybe a gear or something slipping, I don't know.  It continued to advance through the cycles and turned itself off properly.  It's the original timer and is NLA from RepairClinic...not sure if SubZero has it now or not...after all, it's 19 years old.  Any thoughts?  I'm off on 2 weeks vacation so I'm going to investigate further.  Otherwise it works flawlessly.

The next load washed the timer would just sit there and tick...but not advance.  I can give it a little "push", not a complete twist but just a little help and it will click to the next portion of the cycle.  But when it's time to advance itself, the ticking starts again.  It just ticks and ticks but won't advance now without help.  I can make it do right but Tony is mechanically declined so that won't fly.  Otherwise the washer is still top notch and doesn't miss a beat!

I went ahead and ran the 240V circuit today for the Miele.  We're gonna swap them out.  That's why I got the low use Miele in the first place.  We can't be without a properly working washer.  Now I have a plethora of projects...Fix that Frigidaire dryer, convert the Maytage DW back to a portable, and now find a new/replacement timer for the Asko.

I have found two sources for a brand new timer!!  Both places are $200+.  Is it silly to spend that much on an almost 20 year old machine that otherwise performs flawlessly?  Cheaper than a new one and much better built.  I paid $1200 for it back in 1997. The parts guy said they have 2 in stock, their supplier has 5 in stock' and they are still being manufactured so I don't have to get it right away.  We would really like to see just how long this little Swedish Tvättmaskiner will run.
