Old Maytag A206

Hi

I get a old vintage Maytag washer A206 all working but the washer not change cycle autommatic i need force for do spin cycle and drain cycle

Is the timer hanging up and not advancing for the spin cycle?

the timer advance but when hear a click the washer not change fonction but if turn the roll manually i can change washer cycle function

My first thought is that the timer has gone bad...  When the washer is running will it fill, start washing, and advance by itself to the spin portion of the cycle?

I bet it does not pause

Does it continue to agitate through the pause following the wash phase? Something is preventing the run winding from dropping out. I'm thinking the timer. If you are near the machine and watch the timer advance from agitation to pause to spin (and it continues to agitate through out), push in on the timer knob and then pull it back out. Does it spin?
