Well, while i'm not a very big vaccuum enthusiast, this weekend i was presented with a bit of a dodgy vaccuum problem.
Myself and my Rover crew (scouts) are plannig on entering an event later this year, its a Motorcross event and we have to find an old banger car, restore it, modify it and then go to the event and race it and do some tactical driving.
We already had a car from the last time we participated (year 2000), the car had not been touched since then, just left undercover at the side of our Rover Den. Now 7 years worth of rust, damp, dead leaves and *gulp* spiders left us with one very big cleanup job. Someone suggested that we vaccuum all the dry dead leaves and *gulp* spiders out and then scrub it all down. The state of the inside was diabolical and the only vaccuum we knew we had was a little 99 dollar no brand one bought for the soul purpose of vaccuuming our Den once every coupla weeks. Against my better judgement, i plugged it in and introduced it to the car. It didn't do too bad a job, was just lacking that constant high power we needed. So i went rummaging around in the other groups meeting hall and found an old General Electric vaccuum, i'll post a pic in the next couple of posts. We plugged the GE in and it did a far better job than the little no brand POS. It had constant suction, didn't seem phased by the amount of crap going into it. The only downside was the small dust collector, we had to stop every couple of minutes to tip it all out.
Anyway, just proof that you can't beat good old reliability.
Heres a pic of the car.
