SOH Gas Dryer

I would say so if you like Maytag dryers. It looks like a 608/408 maybe? Definitely not an DG808. I hate CL pics, they get compressed to the point of not being able to detect what's in the pic. Some one, maybe Eric was looking for a more featured gas Maytag as well, but I'm not 100% sure these buttons are heat settings necessarily. The tiny pic makes it out to be a good looking unit though. I say the price is right!

Maytag Dryer

Martin---I have a Halo Of Heat dryer, the previous line to this dryer. It works well, matches my Maytag washer, but frankly the next gen, "08" was a better machine in function. Varied heat settings instead of just strictly HOT HOT HOT, noticeaby larger drum, etc. Also, it should have BOTH electronic sensed end of cycle AND regular old timed drying, good variety.
So go buy it, you'll be pleased. Those 4 buttons on it, that my 606 doesn't have, would come in damn handy.
Thanks
Mark

I have not see a Maytg dryer of that style with both timed and electronic cycles. Time/temp auto dry and timed dry, yes, but nothing else with electronic dry that I can remember.

The DW looks like a Maytag to me, too.

for Maytags...what year did they change from center dial with blue to gold?

I would like, as anyone else would, a 08 series with the lighted control panels, but for now, I have the new 1974 A107 with the blue panel, and would just like to get a matching dryer, just for show, someday, no biggie....

Maytags

Martin, the colors changed in 76 I think as there were some late HOH models made with the gold lower trim. The Maytag dryers did offer a time and auto-dry in the same model, the 408 had both and I think the 608 did, but I'm not sure how it dried automatically (thermostat / electronic). I always thought however it was odd that the TOL machines were electronic only with no timed dry flexibility.

Tim, center dial Maytag dryers that dried electronically were the ones that had the 4 positoin timer knob for perm press, regular, air fluff, and damp dry.  There were no other setting on them for timed dry.  the dryers you describe3 with timed cycle and autodry, the autodry was exhaust t-stat controlled/monitor.  No electronic moisture sensing on those.   And yes, that's a reverse-rack Maytag dishwaher.

Odd Kenmo dryer

Martin, I called that the funky Kenmore panel.  I don't think they ever had a complete matched set with that style of "knobs" for both a washer and a dryer.  I vaguely remember the dryer being paired with an entry-level electronic touch panel washer whose pad arrangements kinda looked like a microwave's panel.  Friends that lived here when I transferred here, had that dryer paired with an 80 series washer.  Despite the appearance of a bevy of temperature options, it was only high and low heat and air fluff on the timer dial.

Yogi, if you decide to pass on that center dial dryer, give me a heads up?   I'm looking for a gas dryer nicer than the 309 I have. Its almond with a gold panel, I want to match the 806's blue & white.
