Definitely one of the early Maytag Halo Of Heat models. May not be from 1957, but the early HOH dryers did look like this though

Difficult to narrow the exact model down without a timer dial shot but it looks like a 67C.

Pretty sure that door seal is from a later generation HOH and was modified to fit.

Maytag dryer

I bought a dryer identical to this 6 years ago for $50 (see thread 45267). The original thread said it was a 1960 model but I seem to recall someone on this site determined that it was in fact a 1958 model.

It is in fact a model 67C. If you look at the original thread, there is a photo of the original door seal which I replaced with a NOS seal. They both look like the seal in the picture on this thread, at least to my eye (I'm no expert). I also have a DE806 and the seal looks entirely different - it is almost flush with the cabinet.

I've been using this dryer since I purchased it. I love the simplicity of it and I've been completely satisfied with its performance.

The difference in the doors between the two models, with the 806 having a door with an inner and an outer panel is why it would take a differently constructed seal than this dryer with a single panel door with a plug for the drum opening. Maytag really let you know when you were buying a lower end model.
