When It Rains It Pours

This was just posted on a local merchandise website that I occasionally watch—

5 YR OLD FRIDGE, GAS STOVE, GAS DRYER + OLD W.MACHINE
Available: ***HOUSE SOLD – APPL MUST GO BY JAN. 31*** 5 year old refrigerator, gas stove & gas dryer. Excellent condition. Clean. Fridge has freezer on top and wide shelves. Also available is a very old washing machine with ‘view’ window in lid. Works great. Prior Lake, U-Haul. (Washer/Dryer in basement) Contact: ## #####

I just called the guy and I’m going to meet him at 6:30pm tonight! I asked him the following questions:

What brand is the washer?: ‘I don’t remember, it’s in my mother-in-law’s house which they are tearing down.

Is the window round or square?: ‘I don’t remember’

Is the machine white?: ‘There is a washer and dryer, one is white, the other is some color but I don’t remember what.

SOMEONE PLEASE GET MY NERVE MEDICINE!!!!

Let's See.......

What has a Window in the lid?
Kelvinator,
ABC,
Frigidaire, or..........
Apex!
All good!
What else?

Mindless Moron

If this guy want to sell this stuff, you would think he would be more informed of what it is he is selling.

I get this kind of thing all the time. People look at thier appliances day-in and day-out and still don't know what brand they have.

Me:What brand is your refrigerator?
Mindless moron: I think its an Amanda.
DUH

Me: Whats the brand of your range?
MM: Its a Tampon
(He either means Tappan or well, lets not go there!)

Me:What is the model number of your (appliance)?
MM:I looked all over and cannot find the model number. (Translation:I glanced at the appliance briefly and the model number didn't jump out and hit me on the head.)
Me: Without a correct model number, I have no way to find the correct part. (Translation: Look harder, bucko cuz I aint coming to you D%@# house to find it for you!)
MM: Oh, Here it is! (DUH!)

Maybe I've been in the appliance industry too long. I cannot gladly suffer fools...

Again?

Robert,

You've got to stop doing this to yourself (and me)! I've got my shaking fingers crossed for you. I would die if it was an Apex. Let me know if you happen to run into a black Frigidaire Custom Imperial refrigerator. I know it's a long shot.....but you never know!

Stay calm, have a cup of chamomille tea, and GET OVER THERE!!

Another Old WhaaaaaT?

What is it about the state of Minnesota & allthe old appliances popping up? Is it in the water or something?
Jeesh!
Get going Robert!

"Very Old Washer With View Window In Lid" was the name of a mid-fifties lounge singer...

Nah. Done that to death!

Hmmm. Aqua. Window in lid.

Suzy Homemaker, anyone? ;)

Seriously, good luck! My money's on Frigidaire.

YAY AGAIN!!!! GOOD LUCK ROBERT!!!

Go for it Robert, I really hope you find your Apex or Coronado!!!

I'm rootin' for ya here! Keep us posted!

Of course one brand hasn't been mentioned that had a window lid, WCI-Frigidaire, oy!

I forgot to ask him if he knew (but he probably wouldn't have remembered anyway) if it was a top loader or front loader. Just because he used the word "lid" in his ad doesn't mean he didn't mean "door", like in a front loader with a "look in window".

I can't take it, I can't, 6:30 can't come sooner.

Take a number please....

Your number is 6:30! I cannot wait until we find out about the next treasure!<P> "Anticipation, Anticipation
Is making me late
Is keeping me waiting"

Yes, Louis, wouldn't it be fabulous if it turned out to be a window-lid Hamilton!

In all events, I'm praying that anything but a "fake" 1-18!

Don't forget that window-lid, black panel Kenmore you saw at a sale a few years ago...could be another one waiting for you. You don't have one of those in the collection and they are rare - as would be a Hamilton washer with a window lid. Maybe he's mistaken and it's an Imperator...

Best of luck ;-)
