You should get it Ash!

Hey Ash,
You should get it! I have 2 of this exact model so i'm fine here and you always said you wanted one!

By the way, I sent you an email about the Fluid Drive i'm looking to sell, but you're probably not interested now that you might get this one right?

Cheers
Leon

See what happens

I sent you an email Leon. Pretty amazing to find one on ebay in Sydney!

Did you see that Simpsomatic that was on ebay a week ago? I saw you asked a question to the seller did you end up bidding on it?

See what happens indeed!

Hey Ash,

I have noticed there is already a bid on the Simpson, so if its not you, then you have some competition.

I am actually at home now, so won't get your response till tomorrow, any chance of forwarding it to my home email?

As for the Simpsomatic: no one ended up bidding on it, but i am arranging to pay the seller the $50.00 they want for it. Just in negotiations now with regards to transport. It's in immaculate condition apparently and they didn't want it to go to the scrap yard.

I put the bid on Ebay so we will see how it goes. I cant imagine I would get outbidded. 9 days to go!

I emailed the seller about the machine and got this response...
"We moved into this house a few months ago and the previous owner left it here (she no longer needed it) - she was using it up to the time she moved out, so I assume it works OK. It has been outside for a month or so - it worked before I took it outside, so I suppose it still works. We dont need it. The previous owner said it had a reconditioned motor, but I dont known when that happened - it is pretty old."

So how does that sound to you? Is it very hard to fix these machines or would a simple service keep it going?

Sounds Pretty good

Hey Ash,

That description sounds pretty good to me. You will actually be very hard pressed to find a serviceman to come out and even have a LOOK at the machine, let alone want to do a service on it. Most of the serviceman would have been kids when this machine came out (1966)

I am happy to photocopy the repair manual for you. The main things that seem to happen with these machines is the agitator shaft, solenoids and perished hoses. If the machine goes through a complete cycle and doesn't leak any water, you should be fine.

As for someone outbidding you, don't be surprised if someone tries to, especially at the end of the auction.

Cheers
Leon
