GE combination washer dryers
Hi Ken, after about 1964 GE made quite a few design changes to their combination and I would have to say it was the most reliable of all the combinations at that point we saw many of them run for more than a decade without a single problem.
And when you consider, it’s doing the work of both a washer and dryer there were damn few washer dryer pairs that ran a decade without a problem with either one of them.
There was an apartment complex over in Greenbelt, Maryland with 400 apartments all with GE combos built between 1967 and 71 the complex went condo about 1975 so the machines already had a lot of use when they were rental units. People did not pay utilities there and they ran these things day and night.
My brother Jeff and I kept those machines working many of them lasted into the 90s before most of them were gone, so they actually did pretty well.
