Hello Applianceville and welcome to Discuss-O-Mat! I hope everyone enjoys our new posting system, I made it as similar as I could to our old system, but with some new, more powerful features. Using the new system should be very simple. First if you haven’t logged-in yet, please make sure you do that right away from the Discuss-O-Mat Control Page. Automatic Log-in will keep you logged in for seven whole days, automatically of course! If you wish to post a message, select a forum in which you wish to post in and once you’re in the forum, click on “Create New Thread”. From this point everything will look similar to the old forum. If you have read through a thread and would like to add your reply, simply scroll to the bottom of the thread you are currently in and input text boxes are awaiting your response. Again this is very similar to the old system.

Please use and enjoy our new system. Don’t get too hung up over which forum to post what subject matter at this point, it’s all very new and things will fall into place over time. In the yellow Super Forum (which replaces our old Sandbox) I have created a new thread call The Bug Report. I have completely rewritten our new system's programming code from scratch and I promise you there are going to be bugs. Hopefully none of the bugs will be severe enough to stop us in our tracks, but I suspect we will find a lot of little things that need fixing. If you find something that looks funny and you think it could be a bug please report it in The Bug Report thread, again it’s located in the Super Forum.

One Last Thing

I forgot to mention that member login names and profiles were brought into the new system. You do not need to re-sign up if you have logged in within the last six months to Applianceville.

New format looks like a good thing to me! Say, what about the K-Aid Steve 1-18 found this morning! It looked like brand new! I just brought him my late 70's Imperial to part out and we thought it weighed a lot, but nothing compared to the one Steve found today! They really built 'em back then.

Mini-Agitub

And here's a mini-Agitub, found in an Electro-Mite tabletop washer on eBay. Interesting because these types of machines usually have a top-mounted motor with a 3-vane agitator (meaning you can't watch the action); so this is a first. I wonder how well this works...

Yes, Im going to bid at the last minute or so; it looks like a really neat machine, plus the first of its kind I've seen. Here's the link below.

The tub kind of resembles a large spaghetti pot, and when it's running it appears that the whole outer tub moves, handles and all! Very interesting...

The other versions of these (by Kenmore, Nesco, etc) are just the opposite; they have the motor on top and no Agitub, but the downside is that you can't watch the action, which is why I haven't had any interest in those.

DISCUSS-O-MAT...WOW!

Rober<br
This new discuss-o-mat is great! Even though I do not post very often, I do read much of what is posted here. I love being able to scroll down through the responses without having to click on them. As an ex-computer programmer, my hat's off to you on a great piece of code!(or should I say, many great pieces of code!) Great job and congratulations to you<br
Dennis

Robert this is fantastic!

Robert

Watch the Aberdeen Videos and you will hear Robert saying "And mine was cracked...but thank God I got that new one..." ;-)

OOps

It appears the link isn't working<br
Go to Oldewash.com, then "Washerbase", then scroll down the brand index until you reach "Electro-Mite." Click on that for more details; quite an interesting little machine, and yes, the whole outer tub oscillates!

That would be more convenient than checking through each forum to see if it had a new post. Right now I'm just looking at the number of replies...
